YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY MARCHING PRIDE COURSE REGISTRATION INFORMATION HOW TO REGISTER FOR MARCHING BAND: Marching Band - MUEN 0006 (CRN: 40373) [Students registered under 18 S.H.] Marching Band - MUEN 0006P (CRN: 40376) [Students registered over 18 S.H.] (If you are instructed that marching band is not a class, please provide this handout to your advisor during class registration.) GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENT / SOCIAL AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Marching Band counts as an activity course in the Social and Personal Responsibilities GER. To receive the 3 SH credit students must enroll in marching band twice (2 fall semesters) and in the HPES Core Concepts course once (HPES 1500). Please make your advisor aware of this new change when registering for classes! Music majors must pick between the GER degree option, or the large ensemble requirement for their degree program; no double dipping! IF YOU ENCOUNTER A TIME/COURSE CONFLICT WITH MARCHING BAND WHEN REGISTERING FOR CLASSES DO THE FOLLOWING: 1. Have your advisor do everything they’re able to find another meeting time for the class that conflicts with marching band, even if it meets earlier in the day. Ask the advisor to be added to a section even if it is full. 2. If an unavoidable conflict exists, email Mary Lou Weingart, [email protected] • Type in the subject heading “time conflict override” for marching band • In body of email include your: Name, Y#, and the CRN and course name that conflicts with m arching band 3. Dr. Payne will return your email with confirmation of the time conflict override. You will then need to login to MY YSU once again and add marching band to your course schedule.
