JOHN GABRIEL BORKMAN by Henrik Ibsen(translated by Nicholas Wright) StraightJohn Gabriel Borkman has been in voluntary seclusion in a room in his drab mansion since enduring a prison sentence for embezzlement.Borkman is unhappily married to Gunhild. Gunhild’s twin sister Ella,who has raised Gunhild and Borkman’s son Erhart, visits. The twinsisters become locked in a battle over Erhart’s future. As Borkmanventures out into the snowy hills he finally learns the consequences of alove betrayed.

Michael Cooney’s riotous farce has all the ingredients for rib ticklinghilarity. Eric Swan (aided by his Uncle George and unbeknown to his wifeLinda) has pocked thousands of pounds through fraudulent D.S.S. claims.When Norman Bassett (the lodger) opens the door to Mr. Jenkins (D.S.S.Inspector) deceptive mayhem follows, - as do the undertaker, bereavementcouncillor, psychiatrist, Norman’s fiancé, a corpse, the ominous Ms. Cowperand a rather rebellious washing machine!

THE KINGS OF THE KILBURN HIGH ROADby Jimmy Murphy Straight/IrishIn the 1970s, a group of young men left their homes in the West ofIreland, and sailed across the sea to England in the hope of making theirfortunes. Twenty five years later only one, Jackie Flavin, makes it home -but in a coffin. The play takes place on the day that the winners andlosers of the group meet to drink to his memory and look at their lives,lost dreams and their place in the new Ireland.
This play contains some strong language.

It draws upon the story of the Red Barn murder ofMariah Marten at Polested in 1829. Many details in the production arehistorically accurate. This is a modern script that respects the challengesof the traditional form and performance techniques of melodrama.

A powerful and insightful drama, ‘Menin Gate’ explores the world left behind by the Troubles. Whilst the politicians endlesslydebate whether or not to have a Truth Commission, in the small Belgiumtown of Ypres a policeman’s daughter and an ex-IRA man open a bottleof wine in a hotel bedroom. Is this a two-person Truth Commission orsimply raw revenge?
This play contains strong language and scenes of violence.
NO MAN’S LAND by Harold PinterStraight
Hirst is an alcoholic upper-class litterateur who lives in a grand housewith Foster and Briggs. Spooner, a "failed, down-at-heel poet" whomHirst has "picked up in a pub" and invited home for a drink, becomesHirst's house guest for the night. Through fantastic reminiscences, heappears to have known Hirst at university and to have shared male andfemale acquaintances and relationships.
This play contains some strong language.

Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred are in a home for retired opera singers andmusicians. Each year, on 10th October, there is a concert to celebrateVerdi's birthday. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at thehome and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva andrefuses to sing. But the show must go on!
