We welcomed members friends to try a day at pony club, and also enjoyed an informa- tive saddle fitting demonstration by the Saddleman. We have held sum- mer camps for mem- bers who enjoyed 2 or 3 days of intense coaching followed by a morning of competi- tions. We look forward to see- ing you all again soon, and hope to see some new members, at our forthcoming events, which are all listed in this newsletter. The introduction of BACS pay-ments was well received by our members and worked well.

As a reminder, the branch can now accept payment by BACS for rallies and trainings. Additionally, cheques may still be accepted.

The date for presentation evening will be Friday 11th November to be held at The wheatsheaf Onneley. This year a hot meal is provided for all our members. Addi-tional meals for family/supporters may be purchased for £6.00 each. Please indicate what you would like on the reply sheet. Chris Holman has very kindly offered to compile a photo montage of the branches activities for this year. If you have any photos you’d like includ-

[email protected] .Please can all tro-phy holders return trophies to Julie ASAP.

The price for membership for 2016 has slightly in-creased to £72 and membership runs from February 1st 2016 to January 31st 2017. New members joining for the first time between Sep-tember 1st 2016 and January 31st 2017 and paying the £72 2017 subscription will be entitled to membership until January 31st 2018. This gives new members 3 months free, so if anyone is thinking of joining, please encourage them to do so!

Times for all activities will be on the website http://branches.pcuk.org/northstaffordshire/times/

We request that in the first in-stance you check the website for your times, usually 4 days before the activity. If you are unable to attend an activity that you have booked please contact Julie as soon as possible as there is often a waiting list and your place can be used by someone else and you may be refunded. CREDITS- will only be given for cancelled activi-ties IF replacement found, OR if passed by the DC (Julie) in cases of serious illness/injured member or pony/horse, wherever possible

we request at least a weeks no-tice.

Mounted Rallies contact Julie for more information. These ral-lies are mainly based around flat-work, show jumping, cross coun-try and dressage. They are suita-ble for all PC members, and will be targeted towards the riding element of Pony Club Efficiency Tests. There will be a sliding scale of charges, dependent on the level of tuition required (see reply sheet for details).

For younger members, stable management will be run along-side our mounted games sessions as normal. For our members working towards D+, C, C+ and B tests separate sessions will be

run in the evening for 1.5hours

Sessions are moving dates!

D+/C sessions will be on the sec-ond Tuesday of each month & C+/B sessions will be on the third Wednesday of each month.

Stable Management Rallies (un-mounted)

These rallies are suitable for ALL PC members, and will be targeted towards the care element of Pony Club Efficiency Tests. Therefore, members will be grouped into similar age and , sessions last for either 1 hour or 2 hours if taking an Achievement Badge. Badges will be studied/tested/awarded at each 2 hour session.

Pony Club Dress Code contact Julie Myatt for more infor-mation You are representing your Pony Club so please ensure you and your pony/horse and tack arrive smart and clean. Tack and turnout will be checked to ensure safety at the beginning of each activity. For guidance please see below. PLEASE NOTE - FOR SAFETY REASONS NO HOODIES TO BE WORN WHEN RIDING RIDER Clean & neat Correct, well fitting, tagged hat with the CE mark and one of the following minimum standards: PAS 015:1998 & 2010 EN 1384:1996 BS EN 1384:1997 With the BSI Kitemark Snell E2001 with the official Snell la-bel and number AS/NZS 3838 1998 or AS/NZS 3838 2003 Tidy hair – long hair tied back and up with hairnet. No earrings, PC Sweatshirt or jacket, Clean badge / gloves / shirt / tie. Correctly fitting back protector (when applicable) Beige jodhpurs preferably. Correct chaps (matching boot colour) no fringes Boots clean with safe, thin, uncleated sole TACK Supple and well cared for brown or black tack. Bridle - check fitting of throatlash/noseband/bit check stitch-ing (particularly reins) Saddle - check fitting check stitching - girth straps/girth/stirrup leathers check irons are correct size for boot & safety irons fitted correct way round Plain coloured clean numnahs/pads fitted well up into gullet/ large enough for saddle Martingales correctly fitted PONY Clean with allowance for stable/grass kept Mane/tail clean & tidy Eyes, nose & dock clean Feet well shod/trimmed & clean under hoof oil/dressing No Pinks or purples
