TAILGATING 101

The University appreciates fan support and encourages ticket-holders to arrive early and enjoy food, fun and the company of their friends at pre-game tailgate parties. However, those coming to the area for the game are expected to obey all state and local laws, treat fellow fans, including those supporting the opposing team, with civility and respect the property of others. In the interest of safety, sportsmanship, and consistency, we will not overlook behavior on game days that would not be tolerated at other times. The laws are the same on football game days as any other day of the year.

At its discretion, the University may terminate tailgate parties or take other appropriate action against individuals, groups or organizations whose conduct at tailgate parties is irresponsible, unreasonable or inconsistent with Boise State University, City of Boise, and/or State of Idaho policies, regulations, ordinances and laws.

For the safety and enjoyment of all fans, please keep the following guidelines in mind when tailgating at Boise State University football games:

Boise State University PersonnelPlease show respect, patience, and courtesy toward all security, ushers, parking and game day personnel. These individuals are here to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience. Any verbal or physical abuse of Boise State staff will result in the revocation of parking privileges and/or disciplinary action as necessary.

Tailgating ConductAgain this year, state laws regarding use and possession of alcohol will be enforced on campus. Persons engaging in public indecency, disorderly conduct, lewd behavior and other violations are also subject to disciplinary action to include arrest, issuance of a citation, exclusion and revocation of game tickets and parking privileges. Drinking games of any sort involving alcohol are prohibited during tailgating. Also, any activity which promotes alcohol consumption is prohibited.

Albertsons Stadium Parking Lot HoursThe stadium parking lots will open for those with appropriate football parking permits at 8 a.m. on non-school days and four hours prior to kick-off on weekday games. The lots will close one hour after the game ends, at which time everyone must vacate the lots.

Commercial/Private Advertising in LotsCommercial and other solicitation (sales and/or advertising) is prohibited on campus. Vehicles that are advertising or representing commercial, private brands or other entities without prior written approval from Bronco Sports Properties is prohibited within Boise State parking lots. For more information, contact BSP at (208) 426-4999.

Association Reserved Parking• Please keep the DRIVE LANES open for other patrons to park their cars and access for emergency vehicles. Drive

Lane clearance will be strictly enforced.

• No throwing of objects (footballs, etc.) is allowed in the parking areas.

• DO NOT use stakes to secure tents in your tailgate area due to irrigation & electrical lines.

• No kegs, glass bottles or visible open alcohol containers will be allowed.

Barbeques & Trash• Please pack out what you pack in. Please do not dump charcoals in the parking lots, grass areas or in the trash bins. Hot charcoals

cause fires, thus any unattended barbecue fires will be extinguished.

• No open fire pits or bon fires are allowed.

Page 12: Your for Boise State Football

When I was officially introduced as head coach on December 13, I made a comment about Embracing the Past and Attacking The Future. Those words have come to define what Boise State Football is all about right now. Our staff and players are attacking every day with conviction, passion, intensity and hard work. We are 110% invested in continuing to grow the Bronco football program and our brand. Attack The Future is more than just an internal team phrase. We see Bronco Nation embracing this phrase and bringing its amazing passion to every game. Together, our goal is to fill every seat in Albertsons Stadium this fall, next fall and the many seasons ahead of us.

For our team to be successful we need you each and every game! Help us spread the Bronco love by encouraging your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to become a part of Bronco Nation. We appreciate all you do for the program. Know that if we ask you to invest in what we are doing, we will also invest in you as a community member and season ticket holder. That is our promise.

Attack The Future!

A Collective Effort: As a supporter of Boise State, you are a “representative of the university’s athletics interests,” and are thereby bound by the same rules and regulations as the athletics program. It is essential, therefore, that you recognize the role that you play in maintaining the integrity of the Boise State athletics program. We ask that you take a few minutes to review the following compliance information and that you contact the Boise State Athletics Compliance Office with any questions that you may have. Thank you for all of your support and GO BRONCOS!

Who is a Booster: A “booster” is a representative of Boise State’s athletics interests. You become a booster if: (1) you have ever been a member of any organization promoting Boise State Athletics; (2) you have ever made any type of donation to the Bronco Athletic Association, Boise State Athletics or any other Boise State booster organization; (3) you have ever assisted in evaluating or recruiting prospective student-athletes; (4) you have ever assisted in providing benefits to enrolled student-athletes or their families; or (5) you have promoted Boise State Athletics in any other manner. NCAA Bylaw 13.02.12.1 mandates that when you become a booster, you retain that identity for life and are bound by NCAA rules. Boise State IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS! Boosters Can: (1) Provide jobs to enrolled student-athletes (not recruits) at a going rate and for work actually performed. Student-athletes should not be employed without prior approval from Boise State Athletics. (2) Continue to maintain contact with student-athletes and their families with whom the booster has a verifiable pre-existing relationship. (3) Inform Boise State coaches of recruits by sending information on the recruit.

Boosters Cannot: (1) Contact recruits, either in-person, by telephone, in writing or by any other method. (2) Contact the recruit’s coach, principal or counselor in any manner. (3) Provide any type of extra benefit to recruits or student-athletes. An extra benefit is any special arrangement to provide a student-athlete or the student-athlete’s relatives or friends a benefit not expressly authorized by NCAA legislation. Examples of extra benefits include loans or cosigning a loan, transportation, free or reduced-cost services, gifts, use of a car, complimentary tickets and other forms of entertainment. Receipt of an extra benefit can cause a prospect or student-athlete to be declared ineligible.

Ask Before You Act. Contact Boise State‘s Compliance Office with questions:
