Colin Powell School for Civic and Global LeadershipNamed after alumnus General Colin L. Powell, former United States Secretary of State. His commitment to democracy and freedom has changed our world.

The School builds on its exceptionally strong tradition in the social sciences to provide students with a living laboratory in which to study and conduct research in their chosen fields. As a student at the School you will examine why individuals, groups, governments, institutions, and tribes do what they do, and use your knowledge to further powerful, positive change. The School secured over 200 internship placements for students in 2015 at a variety of corporate, government, and non-profit organizations in New York City and Washington, DC.

Degree OptionsBernard and Anne Spitzer School of ArchitectureAccredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) – the only US agency authorized to accredit professional degree programs in architecture.

Approaching its 50th anniversary, The Spitzer School of Architecture is the only public school of architecture in New York City. Taught by faculty who work in New York City as architects, critics, and scholars, undergraduate and graduate programs have a strong emphasis on the urban environment. As a student at the School you will engage with faculty, alumni, and the profession at large to work on civic, institutional, residential, and commercial projects that move in new and interesting directions to reinvent the built environment for the next generation.

College of Liberal Arts and Science – Division of ScienceThe Division of Science at City College has a proud legacy and a proud future – nine Nobel Prize winners studied here.

As an undergraduate or graduate student in the Division of Science, you’ll have the opportunity to work in labs with distinguished professors who are conducting research on everything from climate change to structural biology and sustainable energy. World-renowned physicists such as Myriam Sarachik, and well-known author Michio Kaku also teach here. Over the years the Division has produced two Rhodes Scholars, several Goldwater and Truman scholars, and graduates who have gone on to further study with prestigious institutions.
