Free Movie Night features Despicable Me In honor of August as Family Fun Month, we will be showing the movie Despicable Me on Thursday, August 8th at 6:30 PM. As part of a scheme to steal a shrink ray and earn the title of "World's Greatest Villain," Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) enlists the help of three little orphan girls. His plot, of course, goes hilariously wrong. The film also features the voice talents of Jason Segel, Russell Brand, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and Elsie Fisher. Popcorn and juice will be available, or you may bring dinner. The program is FREE and open to all ages. The movie is rated PG for some rude humor and cartoon violence. Preschool Programs Our Preschool Programs will continue this month, Monday evenings at 6:30 PM, August 5th & 12th. Children 3 ½ to 5 and caregivers are invited to join us at Your Home Public Library for programs that will include books, rhymes, crafts and more! No registration is required.

National Dog Day– 8/26 Founded by author and pet lifestyle expert

Colleen Paige in 2004, National Dog Day

is a time to honor the undying loyalty and

miraculous changes a dog can bring into

our lives. It is a day to “encourage dog

ownership of all breeds, and embrace the

opportunity for all dogs to live a happy,

safe and abuse-free life”. We recommend

the following titles from our collection to

help you celebrate National Dog Day:

Oogy: the dog only a family could love by Larry Levin

Sophie: the incredible true adventures of the castaway dog

me the secrets of happiness by Julie Klam
