Service Changes March 2018Some of our services will be changing on 25 March 2018 due to the reopening of Squires Gate Bridge.The main changes will see services 7 and 11 return to their regular routes as Squires Gate bridge reopens. Service 18 will also change route to serve the Bond Street and Clifton Drive areas of South Shore running between Blackpool Town Centre and Mereside Tesco.

We are also bringing back our service 20, linking Blackpool Town Centre with Marton Mere Holiday Park, Stanley Park and Blackpool Zoo during weekends and school holidays.

Only four of our routes are changing but we’ve included a brief reminder of each service to keep you up to date.

Service 1

No changes to our Promenade service! We are still calling at all of Blackpool’s Promenade attractions alongside Freeport Retail Outlet and Cleveleys Town Centre.

Service 2

No changes to report here! The service 2 will continue to link Blackpool Town Centre and Poulton via Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Service 2C

Service 2C will continue to run between Blackpool Town Centre and Poulton, with the service extending to Knott End Monday to Saturday. Don’t forget you can get to Victoria Hospital, Grange Park and St Aiden’s High School with ease.

Service 3

Our service 3 will not be changing. This service will still conveniently link Cleveleys with Mereside Tesco via Blackpool and the Fylde College, Bispham Village and Blackpool Town Centre.

Service 4

Again no changes here! The service 4 will still continue to link Cleveleys with Mereside Tesco and continue to serve Whitegate Drive and Marton along the route.

Service 5

Service 5 will also see no change and continue to link Blackpool Town Centre with Blackpool Victoria Hospital. This route also serves Blackpool South Train Station, Bloomfield Road Football Ground and Squires Gate Business Park.

Service 6

Our service 6 will continue to operate between Grange Park and Mereside Tesco linking in with Blackpool Town Centre and also calling at ASDA, St George’s High School and Layton Square.

Service 7

The reopening of Squires Gate Bridge will see the service 7 return to its normal route using Squires Gate Lane before turning onto Clifton Drive North and continuing towards St Annes and Lytham. The service will use the same route in the opposite journey. Use the map to see how this section of the route has changed.

No change here! Don’t forget this service links Blackpool Town Centre with Bispham and Cleveleys, calling at Moor Park Health Centre and Blackpool and Fylde College.

Service 11

There is a change to our service 11 due to Squires Gate Bridge reopening. This service will still link Blackpool Town Centre with St Annes and Lytham but will return to its normal route. The 11 will travel the length of Lytham Road past Highfield Road and Stonyhill Medical Centre before using Squires Gate bridge and continuing into St Annes and Lytham using Clifton Drive North in both directions. Use the map to see how this section of the route has changed.

No change here either! Our service 14 is continuing to link Fleetwood Ferry, Cala Gran and Carleton with Blackpool Town Centre.

Service 17

Service 17 will see a slight timetable change although the route will not be affected. This is because the opening of Squires Gate Bridge should reduce some of the traffic congestion in the Queensway area, making journey times quicker.

Service 18

Service 18 will now serve Bond Street, Clifton Drive, Squires Gate Lane, Lytham Road and Highfield Road. We’re unable to use Harrowside Bridge as there is a 7.5 tonne weight limit in place and all of our buses are heavier than this. We’ve taken a look at the number of people using this new service and an hourly service will ensure there are enough buses to carry the number of customers using it.
