  • Things to do…ADULTS

Activities for our adult students fall into two categories. Some aim to be engaging and stimulating, such as guided museum visits or theatre evenings, while others are relaxing and informal, such as meals out or a pub quiz.

Activities include:• A visit to Scarborough Castle – enjoy the stunning views over

    the coastline.

    • Dinner at a lively Mexican restaurant – sombreros available on request!

    • A backstage tour of the world-famous Stephen Joseph Theatre – home to all the first productions of Alan Ayckbourn.

    • An evening at a typical English pub – sample some genuine English ales!

    • A visit to Goathland – the location used for the popular TV series ‘Heartbeat’ and featured as ‘Hogsmeade Station’ in the Harry Potter films.

    • A visit to Castle Howard – a historic house set within 1,000 acres of breathtaking countryside (shown below).

Learning English successfully is not only dependent on taking lessons in a formal classroom setting, it is also about using the language to communicate in real life situations. This is why our social programme is such a key part of our courses and educational philosophy.

  • TEEN

The social programme is an important and integral part of the learning experience. Our students use their English while having fun with new friends, all supervised by our specially trained Team Leaders. Group activities take place three afternoons and two evenings a week, while Tuesday evening is a time for meeting up informally with new friends or spending time getting to know your English hosts.

    JUNIOR

When planning and designing a course for juniors it is important to include a variety of activities in order to help and encourage their learning. These activities must be enjoyable but also create a need to communicate; it is for this reason that the social programme is such a vital part of our Junior Vacation Programme. Engaging classroom tasks in the morning are supported by fun and games in the afternoon, all supervised by our team of highly qualified Early Years staff.

The excursions are very funny and excellent.GAUTHIER, FRANCE
