The Personal Project is a significant body of work produced over an extended period, (starting in the winter of 9 th grade and ending in the winter of 10 th grade). It is a product of the student’s own initiative. It holds a very important place in the MYP and it reflects the student’s experience of the program. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to produce a truly creative piece of work of their choice and to demonstrate the skills they have developed through Approaches to Learning: (How do we learn?) Students may discover that completing a Personal Project is an excellent preparation for future studies. It is also very rewarding for supervisors to work closely with individual students to see what they can achieve. It is a product of the student’s own initiative. It holds a very important place in the MYP and it reflects the student’s experience of the program. Students may discover that completing a Personal Project is an excellent preparation for future studies. It is also very rewarding for supervisors to work closely with individual students to see what they can achieve. The Personal Project Expo is a chance for students to show the results of their hard work.
