Problems with social exclusionNegative images and discrimination of youth with hyphenated identities

Violence and discrimination in the school and in the street: public spaces, police

Lack of reporting mechanisms about discrimination

Lack of social, cultural and economic innovation in those neighbourhoods

Those youth are not heard, are excluded and don’t participate in society

Overall objectives to contribute to social inclusion

To offer youth a successful youth driven democratic ‘experience’

To develop sustainable relations between youth and authorities, neighbours (shopkeepers, mothers, teachers etc)

To develop good practice between international youth, international partners and other stakeholder to upscale.

Critical success factors: young people

• Small steps to change big problems designed by youth

• Developed skills and self esteem to lead debates about desired change with peers and stakeholders

• Successes and set backs• Youth hosted international peers

proudly in their neighbourhoods.• Youth developed intercultural

cooperation, competition and friendship to realise local plans

• Trust in authorities increased and deepened understanding of democracy.

Young people: From ignorance and shy to proud, open and full of self esteem

Talented youth built capacities to be junior trainers, coaches and role models of their peers.
