YRP newsletter l Issue 3 May 2015 l 1 Welcome to our YRP newsletter at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff Rail. This issue rounds up the latest opportunities and events for you to get involved with. Newsletter - Issue 3 YRP Black Tie Dinner & Award Evening On the 16th April, 20 of us were lucky enough to attend this annual event held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London for a great evening of food, drink, music and guest speakers. Our gold corporate membership awards us with a table but this year we also purchased another, recognising those who have made a significant contribution to producinng excellent work in our department or involvement with YRP. Attendees were a mixture of our colleagues from the PB and WSP sides of our business, opening up the opportunity for us to get to know each other better. After a lovely three course dinner accompanied by speeches, the band kicked in and opened up the dancefloor for a few of us brave ones to try out some moves and for the networking part of the evening to flow. A special congratulations goes out to Sofia Angelara from our Manchester office who was shortlisted for the Young Rail Professional of the Year Award. Sofia certainly was a close competitor, we were proud of her as she walked away with a bottle of bubbly and certificate to commemorate her achievement. There was an after party organised at Sway bar next door to the venue but some of us ventured further onto Soho to carry on the dancing into the early hours. It was a great opportunity to celebrate our work, network and to start getting to know each other in our newly integrated department. A selection of photos from the evening are now in our 360 gallery, if you would like your personal photos to be uploaded, please send them through to [email protected]. The YRP Membership Page on our Rail 360 Collaboration site is a great way to access all the important links you need quickly. Don’t forget to register using your work email to keep up with the latest in YRP and so we can keep track of who is a member in our business!
