hostScarfandStoryDrivesacrossthecountrytoencourageyoungwomenfacingbreastcancer.

Background:ThemissionofHopeScarvesistosharescarves,stories&hopewithwomenfacingcancer.Wecollectscarvesandstoriesfromwomenwhohavefacedcancer,cleanthescarvesandthensendthemontoothersintreatmentwiththestory,scarftyinginstructionsandinformationaboutHopeScarves.Sinceourfoundingin2012wehavesharedover5,000scarves&storieswithwomenineverystate&12countries.Theyoungestrecipientis5andtheoldest,92.Weservewomenfacingalltypesofcancer.HopeScarveswaslaunchedattheYSCConferencein2012andhasbeencollectingscarvesandstoriesaspartoftheYSCSummiteversince.Ourfounder,LaraMacGregor,wastheclosingkeynotespeakeratthisyears’YSCSummitinAtlanta.Thisledtotheideaofdoingaserviceprojecttogetheronanationallevel!LearnmoreaboutHopeScarvesathopescarves.org,whereyoucanreadLara’sblog,MyHopefulLife,aboutherjourneylivinglifeoverMetastaticBreastCancer.WhyStoryandScarfDrives:Inordertomeetever-increasinginterestinourprogram,weneedtocollectscarvesandstoriestokeepourcollectiongrowing.Ideally,aSurvivorwilldonatethescarvessheworeduringtreatmentalongwithherstory,butsometimessurvivorsdonothavescarves,orsurvivorshavescarvesbutdonotwishtosharetheirstory.Allversionsofthisarefine!Wealsocollectcommunity-donatedscarves(seemorebelowaboutourcommunity-basedscarfdrives).Overall,ourScarf&StorydrivesareanimportantpartofourabilitytofulfillourmissionandweareexcitedtopartnerwithYSCsupportgroups!HowtoBegin:Yourlocalgroupcanbepartofanationaleffortthatwehopewillincludeover150Face2Face(orsimilar)groupsinthemonthofOctober.Hereisastep-by-stepguideforyourgroup.PleasereviewthisdocumentandreachouttoHopeScarveswithquestions.Atthebottom,moreinformationisincludedabouthostingacommunityscarfdrive(atyourchurch,school,neighborhood).Wewelcomeallefforts!•LeadinguptoyourEvent:
