Hi and welcome to the guide! This guide is to help you out on the practical
Exams (hopefully get you a perfect!) This is my first (HOPEFULLY!) accepted
FAQ. I have written on for Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness, but it is not being
Accepted, however. Enjoy! Oh, and also, this guide is made for players that
Have THE NEEDED cards.

A B O U T T H E E X A M S/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Exams are taken every month to change your rank. They range from Dropout boy
To King of games. There are three sections.
See my guide for the practical!
See Ishtar_Dark's Guide for the timed duels.
See LDA Dragon's Faq for written exams.
The top score is out of 500. For this, you must answer all 10 questions on the
Written correctly, the timed duel in 1:00- and get full marks on practical.
This may seem hard but is quite easy once you get the hang of it!

#MINI SECTION I. COPMETITION! #

What every FAQ needs! A competition! Basically, each MONTH I will ask you
all to make a deck to a certain theme (Not necacerilly the exams). Then Email
to me. There will be a winner each month. The whole thing is based around
points. The better the deck, the more points you earn!
Here is what Points are deducted for: Also, Please give a pack listing.
(Competition Entries Close on the last daY of the month).
Having TOO many rare caards in a deck. You are allowed,
1 Secret Rare (Too Many - 10 for each!)
2 Ultra Rares (Too Many - 8 for each!)
2 Super Rares (Too Many - 6 for each!)
And as many NORMAL RARES and commons as you like!
NOT VERY GOOD DECKS! ( - ALL YOUR POINTS MWA MWA MWA...!)
Using too many cards. Anything above 45 is MINUS 3 MARKS FOR EACH!

# *MINI SECTION*II. What are exams? #

Like I said in the Intro, exams are taken every month. The ranking goes from
dropout boy to King of games. The rules are simple. Pass with 250 points or
over (Halve the total). The exams are split up into three sections. They are
Practical, written and the timed duel. In the practical, you are given a week
to make a deck to a certain theme (You can always make it on the day, when he
says is your deck ready?). This is worth 300 points. It is IMPORTANT!
The timed duel is a duel where the cards are laid down for you. You must solve
th riddle. Unlike normal duels, you may look at face down cards on your
opponents side of the field, and your deck. You may re-try up to 10 times.
Points are deducted for eace time you start again, and if you take a LOOOOONG
time to do it! This is out of 100.
The written comprises of 10 timed questions. They are on the cards you meet in
the game. Quite simple, 10 points each. 10 x 10 =100. Now, who can work this
out?

OMFG! I added God Knows how many codes. Changed the Competition. And I have
been getting A LOT of E-mails asking what Action Replays are. They are cheating
devices sold separatley. In the U.K. they are sold in HMV and GAME and in
U.S.A. I will make a guess that they are in Wal*Mart.

The test procter is an unusual fell"A". He seems to have a LP recovery
deck, but there are a few out of place cards like Big-bang shot and Jinzo.
I will not list his deck until I have completed finding out what he has. And
for that, I need to wait for year 2. Unless you wanna email it to me...
JUST KIDDING! Can if you want to. Basically, the reason behind the LP deck,
is that in the exams where you have to damage him, he wants you to survive as
much as possible. He is a bit pof a dumb-ass though, as most of the time, I
summon a monster with 1000 ATK points and he cowars in DEF. In the traps exam,
there is some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that Jinzo is NOT
taken out. The good news is, that he <B>ALWAYS</B> (you know the whole buisness
with <B>) sets it SO DONT ATTAcK WITH A MONSTER THAT HAS 1500 ATK - OR FLIP IT
UP BY PLAYING SWORD OF REVEALING LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah, the good old spells! Spell are my favourite types of exams as they are
Easy to activate. This is a defence deck with the monsters. Use toon table
To search for another, then another, then toon world. Simple really!:)
*NOTE* If you like, take out a few but if you do, replace them with FIELDS!

SPELLCASTERS(thanks to Chris Weir for this).

This is a bit thrown together, I must admit. Hm ... ..., ah yes! If you
Are lucky enough to draw cathedral of nobles on turn 1 then activate it!
Always leave 2 open spaces for cards that go straight to the graveyard e.g.
Waboku and Jar of greed. Medium, I wont blame you if you fail. Email me
And is I think your TRAPS deck is better, then I will post it!

Not a lot I can say... this is the HARD one. You are VERY likely to
Fail this one. My apologies :) ALSO PLEASE NOTE! Cyber-stein and
Summoner of illusions ARE NOT IN because it DOSE NOT COUNT AS A
FUSION SUMMON! And ... (starts to cry) THEY TOOK OUT ALL THE SUBSTITUTES

OK this is the part of the guide where I get yelled at ALOT. People, this is
a VERY UNLIKELY deck to get a perfect, seeing as how it has LOW potential.
This is a temporary until someone can beat it. My sincere apologies, as
this is probably what you were all looking for! There is a stratergy to this
though. There are some monters that fuse to form more than one monster.
(I.e. Red eyes black dragon), so if you like use these (Thanks to Dave for
this!)

Nightmare. Use Tremendous Fire When you like! Stelth Bird is amazing.
PERIOD. On it's own, it dose 1000 points of damage AND can flip itsef back down

There are a few events involving exams. These are the ones that I know of:

What: Easy money
Where: Gym
How: Fail the exams so that you are ranked dropout boy
When: All the time on weekends
Startegy:
Beat Fonda Fontaine. The remaining LP you have = DP. E.G. Dont lose or heal
A SINGLE LIFE POINT and you would have 8000 DP! For free! And your rank is
Raised to! (to apprentice duellist). She has a RUBBISH deck so use a beat-down,
And the duel will last about three seconds.

where: Front of school
How: Say yes twice to will you help me?
When: Friday Exams
Strategy:
This is a very wasteful event. IT IS A POINTLESS BUT FUN EVENT! This will help
You with easy money too. On the day of exams, there is a slight chance that
Shopkeeper Dorothy will ask you to help her with a truck. Say yes. She'll say
That you will miss the exams. Say yes again. You will miss timed duel and
Written, BUT NOT PRACTICAL! You can still pass, but only just. Then, on
Tuesday, instead of choosing the pack that you want, you get ONE free pack of
Dorothy's gift (the all 1200 common card pack). Then you leave! STUPID!

How do you get to be the king of games?*
You need three things:
1) To have beaten everyone 10 times each(I'm not sure, but you may be able to
get away with duelling 200 times. Email for proof!)
2) At least 60% of the Questions answered correctly on the written(see other
FAQ).
3) 100% of cards. (Blinkin heck! That is only for prince too! 0_o!)

guide there is a code section and I don't know what it is. - I have Gotten
Several Emails like this one. They are Action Replay Codes.
I also want to ask if u beat the game yet. If yes, please tell me how because
I think it just keep on going. - It Never Ends. Konami Always Makes an Endless
Cycle Of Duels for games, so no.
And i also want ask how do you get from a elite duelist to the king of games. -
You need to get to Prince of games first. Here are the requirements for Prince:

About 40 Q's on the Written Exam Correctly.

The action Replay codes don't work!
Mabey your version is low. Go to options and then look at the top right hand
corner. It shold say V..... I use a 3.3 and I got them off the message boards
and they all work fine for me.
