ZAMIL GROUP

Abdulla Al ZamilCEO, Zamil Industrial

Abdulla Mohammed Al Zamil is something of a visionary. He represents a younger generation of Saudis

looking to shake things up and in many ways symbolises the changing dynamics of family businesses in the

Gulf that have made the transition from traditional merchant houses rooted back in the 1970s to companies

that have had to adapt and evolve in tandem with the changing global economy.

At 47, an upbeat and energetic Al Zamil heads Zamil Industrial Investment Co (ZIIC), the fourth-largest Saudi

industrial company by market capitalisation and one of the fastest-growing companies in Saudi Arabia.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington in Seattle, Al

Zamil returned to the kingdom in 1987 to join the family business while completing his MBA. He worked his way

up from an industrial engineer on the assembly line, to then being part of the purchasing department, before

going on to sales and marketing and eventually operations.

He oversees the firm’s intense competition for market share in the steel, air conditioning, glass, insulation and

concrete industries.

Zamilinfra brings to you a comprehensive Diesel Generator offering - A combination of elite Engine and Alternator from reputed OEM manufacturers, assembled with precision and powered by Zamilinfra.

Diesel Generators:

Diesel Generators, is a key element of the telecom infrastructure. It should not be considered as a onetime “Product Buy” to

be bought off the shelf. Zamilinfra introduces this DG as a complete service offering for telecom operators.

The biggest challenge for any Telecom Operator is to create a homogenous environment of operating a network with desired

SLAs. And the primary reason for any downtime other than the network or RF element if the Power/Energy, is due to lack of

adequate management of DG as a infra.

LOMBARDINI:In 2007 Lombardini entered Kohler Group. Located in Wisconsin is one of the biggest private companies of United States. Kohler engages in a wide of businesses, from ceramic to furnishing, and from hotel to engine for electric power generators. Lombardini, the third diesel engines world’s producer (up to 50 kW) and the segment market leader, joined Kohler Power Group, contributing to its growth.

PERKINS:Over the years Perkins has expanded its engine ranges and produces thousands of different engine specifications including diesel and gas engines.

Perkins is a premium supplier of medium and small capacity diesel engines to genset manufacturers around the world and is preferred by Zamilinfra in its offerings.

A wide variety of engines is available with variations from air-cooled and water-cooled types.

5 kVA - 50 kVA range with silent canopy for telecom Canopy-less design

MITSUBISHI:Mitsubishi Engines are the all-important power source necessary for driving the machinery that helps sustain daily life.

These engines also function as the core of electric power generating systems. Mitsubishi heavy Industries manufactures 0.4 to 56,400 PS, and General machinery & Special Vehicle Headquarters handle the production for those diesel engines within the 4 to 5,000 PS output to range. In addition, the Works produces a wide variety for related equipment, such as diesel engine generators, thus contributing as a partner to everyday community life.

Generates electricity and peace of mindIts recovery time, easily the best in its category, guarantees a seamless switchover to the back-up power. Moreover, its effective governing system controls the voltage fluctuations, thus ensuing complete safety of telecom equipments.

Performance unmatchedIts got one of the most preferred engines fitted inside - the OEM engines and alternators. Compact and low on vibration, this engine has the smallest footprint as compared to other engines of identical ratings. Making the DG set apt even for roof-mountings.

Silence certifiedEach and every Zamilinfra DG set complies with the most stringent noise and emission norms stipulated by the local governing bodies.

INTEGRATED FUEL TANKS:

DG sets at BTS cell-sites require larger diesel storage to cater to longer power outages.

Inbuilt fuel tanks reduce the requirement of additional foot print and land rentals associated.

Also, Integrated fuel tanks with higher guage steel are more theft deterrent than the conventional fuel tanks used otherwise

HEAVY GAUGE CHASSIS:

Use of heavy gauge chassis in our DG solutions result in lesser vibrations and higher service life of the machines.

All mechanical parts are passivized and painted after treatment to reduce rusting.

REDUCED FORM FACTOR:

For telecom sites the form factor and foot print of the resultant DG system is kept to a bare minimum by carefully choosing the engine-alternator combination.

The power density of the DG unit increases considerably due to our design approach.

No Compromise technologyŸ It's got other advantages too. Like, it's transported

through the Zamil Group. It is installed and commissioned through a Zamilinfra service personnel.

Ÿ It even comes with an several plans of annual maintenance contract and FLM.

Ÿ It is most fuel efficient in its class.Ÿ It offers zero-leak engines.Ÿ Manual and AMF control panel options are also

available

• Reliable and Robust product portfolio

• Trained Skill set which can service DGs of multiple brands

• Timely availability of Consumables & Spares

• Theft proof fuel tanks

• Remote Monitoring and control

• Fueling and fleet management

The buzz-word in telecom these days is “Energy-Savings”, and Batteries play a vital role in providing power to the site and maintaining uptime SLAs. It is a key building block, supporting the phenomenal growth of tele-density achieved in the last decade.

As the Global Telecom network witnesses an unprecedented pressure on energy-costoptimisation and a spread of rural network in difficult terrains, the expectations from a battery have changed.

The battery is now required to take up the role of a key energy source, unlike in the past, when it merely served as a standby in urban / semi-urban networks. Successful implementations in the field have already proved that an intelligent architecture using superior

Zamilinfra VRLA Battery more efficiently can provide immediate benefits in terms of reduced OPEX.

VRLA Batteries from Zamilinfra:

Energy Savings-Energy Savings-Energy Savings

Li-Ion Offering: Zamilinfra’s venture with NEC

Lithium - Ion batteries have the highest energy density and cycle life:

Zamilinfra has exclusive tie-up with NEC Japan for the manufacturing, R&D, assembly, commissioning and other services to be provided with Li-Ion batteries for telecom application. The ESS and Site Monitoring platform has been developed with NEC with a vision to create a new battery product which offer 5 times life with 1/3rd of the size of conventional batteries.

Advantages of Lithium Ion Battery at Cellsites :

GFMJ OPzV series for deep cycle applications such as in Solar PV sites where almost 100% Depth of Discharge is required.

Zamilinfra GFX Monobloc Series

Off-grid sites, which majorly run on diesel fuel have over capacitated DGs installed. The DG runtime per day can be reduced by use of increasing the energy storage at site and using high life battery chemistry.

High useable life offers good returns on investment.

Saving on DG runtime does increase loading levels but heavily reduces on the total fuel consumption per day due to optimized DG loading. Lithium Ion batteries can charge is lesser time to make this possible.

In cases where Lithium Ion batteries are combined with Solar / Wind, DG runtime can further be reduced.

Temperature sensitivity of Lithium ion Battery (upto 50 deg Celsius) are way better than most advanced VRLA systems. We all know that all VRLA datasheets mention life of upto a couple of hundred cycles only on 27 deg Celsius which is not the case for most SEA countries.

In all situations of international trade and high local transport distances, Lithium Ion batteries incur very low logistics costs due to multiple times less volume and weight as compared to competing VRLA systems.
