ART. 185Cryogenic

C ryogenic valves are designed to w ithstand tem peratures dow n to

-196°C . All m etallic parts are m anufactured in stainless steel, w hile the

soft parts are realized in proper special m aterials suitable for this so severe

application.

N orm ally, the seats are in P oli-Chloro-Tri-Fluoro-Ethylene (PC TFE - Kel-F®)

and PTFE lip seals insures the sealing of all dynam ic com ponents. Valve

bonnet is extended to keep a vapor room , to avoid the contact of liquid

cryogenic m edia to the gland.

ART. 285

SubseaSubsea ball valves can be m anufactured in bolted body or w elded bod y

execution. B olted valves are provided w ith a double body to closure

sealing. The fi rst sealing is to avoid the leakage to the external environm ent,

w hile the second is to not perm it to the sea w ater to get into the valve.

A specialsealing is applied to insulate com pletely the process fl uid to the

environm ent. Special gearboxes or R O V receptacles are installed to be

operated at the highest w ater depths.Maximum depth 2000 m.

ART. 385High Temperature

H igh Tem perature ball valves are norm ally provided w ith m etal to m etal

seats and adjustable graphite gland packing. N o soft parts are considered,

due to the tem perature w hich can reach m ore than 600°C . All m etallic

parts are realized in forged special steels. B all and seats hardfacing is

w ith chrom ium carbides or tungsten carbide. A stem extension m ay also

provided to facilitate the operation of the valve.

ART. 485

Underground U nderground ball valves are usually provided in fully w elded body

execution w ith butt w elding ends. For this application valves are provided

w ith an extended stem ; drain, vent and em ergency sealant lines are fi tted

at the top of the extension.
