A Message from Our MD - CEO______________________________________________

Here at Qatar Rail we truly value all of our staff, including those working on behalf of our programme partners across the Qatar Rail Development Program (QRDP).

The health, welfare and safety of all these people is fundamental and critical to ensuring the overall success of the QRDP and for the development of Qatar as a country.

I and my executive and senior management team are fully committed to our vision of Zero Harm and we will ensure that the highest priority is given to the management of health and safety.

The Zero Harm Standard sets out our expectations for the planning and execution of a safe and healthy work environment. We expect everyone involved to embrace our vision of Zero Harm and work with us to ensure our projects are delivered safely and without serious injury to personnel.

Zero Harm Values & Vision

Qatar Rail’s vision for Zero Harm is to ‘prevent injury and ill-health to all of our staff, programme partners, members of the general public and our customers’.

Our ethos is that that “health and safety is to be foremost in everything that we do” and that “everyone has the right to go home safely and without any injuries or ill health at the end of each day”.

Zero Harm Beliefs Our guiding principles for achieving Zero Harm include:

• Health and safety are values that shall not be compromised

• We truly believe that all accidents are preventable

• Health and safety must be led from the top, down

• Everyone has a responsibility for their own health and safety and that of others

• Positive behaviours are to be reinforced and negative behaviours are to be challenged

• Hazards that pose a risk to health, safety are unacceptable and shall be mitigated and reduced

• Everyone has the ‘right to STOP’ work’ or to stop others from working if it is unsafe, without fear of any action or consequences being taken against that person
