I have compiled a detailed inside look into Natural Supplements in this first Volume of this Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide I have included some of natural supplements that can change your life starting now. This information can be obtained through hours of research through scientific data and trial and error. However you will not have to do hours of research, I did that for you. After a brief health scare I found myself with a lot of time to reflect on my health and how I was causing free radicals, caused by stress and candida to overrun my body. As former college athlete and Multi-Sport Coach and Trainer it has always been important to me to stay at peak conditioning and performance. In life sometimes we allow temporal situations to thrust us off our path. This guide will allow you a start handbook to the dietary supplements that can and will change your health goals and help you enjoy and overall health life. What we call food today has been depleted of most of its nutritional value. Men in the 21st century are literally only half the men our ancestors are. Research shows that chemicals and dyes in foods, like yellow #5 have reduced penis size, testosterone level and more in men of this generation. It would seem that almost every person you know has some sort of nutritional deficiency. It’s so important that we focus our intention on our health needs. As with any diet or workout program it is important to discuss your supplement needs with a physician, this book is in no way a guarantee of cure for disease. Although this data all you have to do is keep this guide and began taking advantage of the miraculous benefits of these supplements. I have provided an objective view and included in this guide is my analysis of various Supplements for heart, sexual and various other benefits enjoy.

re you interested in purchasing natural health supplements? When looking to buy natural
health supplements and natural tonics for health and wellness, chances are you'll find
your options are limited in local stores. Online, there are many possibilities. However, an
important question is - how to know which natural tonics for health and wellness are legitimate
ones that provide specific health benefits?
Ideally, vitamin and nutrient requirements would come totally from your diet. The problem is -
many people make poor food choices every day. And even with a well-balanced diet, studies
find that nutrient values of foods have been declining for decades because of soil depletion and
various other factors.
When looking to buy natural health supplements, leading the list should be the daily
vitamin/mineral/nutrient supplement that is the basis of your supplement program. And all daily
supplements are not created equal.
High-Quality Daily Vitamin/Mineral/Nutrient Supplements - a daily high-quality, broad-spectrum
anti-aging natural supplement helps fill in the dietary gaps that everyone will have. Few persons
obtain the minimum recommended servings of 5-9 cups of vegetables and fruits per day, for
example, and thus do not obtain the health benefits associated with these vital foods.
And taking one of the cheap one-a-day vitamins is probably a waste of time and money. When
considering natural health supplements, vitamins and minerals are just the beginning. The body
needs and thrives from a wide array of anti-aging natural tonics for health and wellness
substances - amino acids, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, neuronutrients, herbal extracts, enzymes
and other nutrients such as L-Carnosine, alpha lipoic acid and acetyl L-Carnitine and so on. And
these nutrients must be in the correct proportions to each other based on the latest research.
In addition, other natural tonics for health and wellness to consider when you buy natural health
supplements with specific health benefits proven by clinical studies are:
A
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 4
Natural Cholesterol Lowering Supplements - the most effective is policosanol which comes from
sugar cane. Its cholesterol-lowering abilities are published in over 80 clinical studies, which are
more studies than for most prescription drugs. Policosanol significantly lowers total cholesterol
and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL)
cholesterol without the side affects associated with the statin drugs.
Sexual Enhancement Supplements - many sexual problems (and health problems) are related to
nutrient deficiencies. In men, for example, men with impotency problems also suffer from
cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes or are taking prescription drugs which commonly cause
sexual dysfunction problems. Restore your general health and your sexual health will
automatically follow.
Is it possible to buy natural health supplements that you can slow the aging process? Yes!
Numerous clinical studies have shown and are still finding the health benefits of many of these
nutrients. You can try to come up with your own supplement plan and take many different
supplements individually. However, to buy natural health supplements and design your own
supplement program is not the best way. It's easy to end up with a dozen or more individual
substances to take daily, which is both a hassle and expensive. And if certain substances are out of
balance, they can combine to produce other unwanted compounds that can be harmful.
There are manufacturers that provide advanced nutritional products in one broad high-quality
daily supplement. Nutrient quantities are combined according to the latest research, and
individual ingredients are linked to relevant clinical studies and benefits. Learn as much as you
can before you buy natural health supplements and the natural tonics for health and wellness
you'll be taking every day.

Benefits of Supplementing With St. John's Wort
What is St John's Wort?
Extracts of Hypericum perforatum L. (St John's wort) are now successfully competing for status as
a standard antidepressant therapy. Because of this, great effort has been devoted to identifying
the active antidepressant compounds in the extract. From a phytochemical point of view, St
John's wort is one of the best-investigated medicinal plants. Researchers in Europe have studied St
John's Wort for decades. They discovered a combination of elements in the plant, foremost of
which is "hypericin", react with specific chemicals in the brain to temper emotional discomfort, lift
depression, and calm the nerves. Working very much like the common synthetic prescription
antidepressants (maprotiline hydrochloride and imipramine), natural extracts from St. John's
Wort have shown to relax and soothe the psyche with minimal side effects
St John's Wort Benefits
St. Johns Wort today has been found to be very beneficial in healing wounds and is especially
good for dirty, septic wounds. St. Johns Wort has been used in case of putrid leg ulcers, that
noting heals. Like the leach that was used not too many years ago for wound cleansing it does
not destroy the healthy tissues and healthy cells but it cleans the dirt out of septic wounds. It
helps reduce the inflammation in septic sores, in boils, in cellulite and lymhangitis.
The compound Hypericin was isolated from St. Johns Wort in 1942 and has been used as an anti-
depressant for emotionally disturbed people. This tranquilizing quality from small quantities
hypericin increase blood flow to stressed tissue. There is a reduced capillary fragility and
enhanced uterine tone due to the increased Hypotensive blood flow.
St John's Wort Side Effects
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 6
The use of St. Johns Wort has been shown to demonstrate a side effect producing a
photosensitivity. Hypericin is absorbed in the intestines and concentrates near the skin. An allergic
reaction takes place when those with light fair skin are exposed sunlight. That exposure causes
tissue damage and in some cases death has resulted. While taking St. Johns Wort one should
avoid strong sunlight whether the skin is dark or light. There is a photosensitizing substance
produced under the skin by this exposure to sunlight that causes the skin to burn.
Benefits
• relieves mild to moderate depression and anxiety.
• promotes restful sleep.
• improves capillary circulation.
• increases cardiac circulation.
• eases gastrointestinal distress.
• relieves discomfort associated with premenstrual syndrome.
• fights retroviruses.
Natural Vitamin Sources
There are a lot of people who do not have enough natural vitamin sources in their diet and
therefore suffer from a deficiency of one or more vitamins. Obviously, it is possible to buy
vitamin supplements to help overcome any deficiencies but for the majority of people it should
be possible for them to obtain the majority of their recommended daily allowance of vitamins
from natural vitamin sources. The key to gaining the correct amount of vitamins from natural
vitamin sources is to eat a healthy and balanced diet.
There are certain diets, such as vegetarian, that provide a limited number of natural vitamin
supplements and therefore a supplement may be necessary. Also, the intake required of these

natural vitamin sources at certain periods may need to be increased and a supplement may be
the best option. It is important to be aware of each of the different types of vitamins and their
best natural vitamin sources so that a person can incorporate as many of these as possible into
their regular diet. Water soluble vitamins cannot be stored in the body and need to be
replenished on a daily basis so it is natural vitamin sources for these vitamins that are the most
essential to know.

Natural Growth Hormone Supplements
A hormone is a naturally occurring substance that is actually a chemical messenger for our body,
helping it go about daily tasks every day. A natural growth hormone is one that is responsible for
the overall development and sustenance of normal body functioning for persons and while these
natural growth hormones are comprised of amino acids that produced in the endocrine glands to
stimulate certain activities, their job doesn't end there. Let us learn more about these hard
working natural growth hormones and the role they play in helping us about our daily needs.
Natural growth hormones facilitate optimum body performance and determine muscle, tissue
and cell functioning
The endocrine gland produces the natural growth hormone and proceeds to send it all through
the body through the blood stream so that it helps our body maintain optimum performance
levels for various task like eating, walking, sleeping. One prime example of a natural growth
hormone is Insulin, which helps the human body digest food while others decide on the
limitations of factors such as scope of bodily growth, digestion, reproduction and sexual
functions. Thus, we find that the natural growth hormones play an integral role in ensuring peak
performance of a person, especially during adolescence when there is maximum production of
HGH, the human growth hormone occurring naturally in the body. Beyond the age of 22, there
is considerable decline in the production levels of the natural growth hormone with the pituitary
gland, one of the endocrine glands, situated in the center of the brain, producing less of this
highly complex hormone. What makes the HGH a natural growth hormone that is immensely
complex is the number of amino acids it takes to function (all of 191 amino acids) - a rather large
number for any protein produced by the pituitary.
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 10
Adolescence is the time when the body needs to grow and the secretion of natural growth
hormones like HGH helps it to do so. However, beyond adulthood, falling HGH levels and the
slackness of the natural growth hormone production ability of the pituitary gland makes for lesser
hormones in our body, which has tremendous impact on our physical and mental abilities. This is
the main reason why many people are keen to try out the numerous supplements and synthetic
solutions as a replacement means for the lack of natural growth hormones, but such persons are
best warned to first learn about the costs (not just financial but physiological as well) of ordering
a substitute for this natural deficiency.
Benefits of safe and real HGH enhancers: natural growth hormone replacement and acceleration
aids
The availability of real HGH and homeopathic HGH sprays, powders and pills is a welcome deal
for those looking to boost natural growth hormone production without the negative side-effects
and exorbitant costs of synthetic enhancers or injections. Real HGH supplements are a blend of
all natural growth hormones and replicate the role naturally occurring HGH would have played
in keeping metabolism and energy levels high; increasing the body's ability to burn fat, hold on
to lean muscle mass and not fat while combating wrinkles, greater libido and great looking hair
and skin are other advantages of high natural growth hormones levels.
Natural Testosterone Supplements
Testosterone Support Supplements (or Testosterone Aids) are meant to enhance your
performance, increase muscle gains and make you bigger. Testosterone is the master male

hormone. Testosterone supplementation can increase male sex drive, strengthen bones, muscles,
decrease body fat, improve thinking ability, boost energy levels and guard against the onset of
depression and heart disease.
Testosterone
Testosterone is a powerful anabolic hormone that stimulates and controls the development of
muscle, bone, skin, sex organs, and most other masculine, physical features. Recently, scientists
have discovered that testosterone also aids mental function, enhancing both visual and
perceptual skills. Male testosterone is produced in the testes by a group of cells known as the
Leydig cells. These cells begin secreting high doses of testosterone during puberty to trigger
increased lean muscle mass, sex organ development, bone formation and higher energy levels.
Testosterone levels peak during a man's early to mid-twenties.
Testosterone in Elderly Men
As a man ages, the amount of testosterone produced by the cells decreases. By the age of sixty,
the average man will have lost nearly 50% of his testosterone supply. In addition, other factors
(such as stress, lack of sleep, physical inactivity, the use of prescription medication and drinking)
can cause testosterone levels to drastically decline. Although there is a growing awareness of the
vital role testosterone plays in a man's overall health, the vast majority of men still don't
recognize the key symptoms of testosterone deficiency.
Testosterone Deficiency & Symptoms
Testosterone deficiency symptoms include depression, fatigue, low sex drive, irritability, loss of
facial/body hair, thinning and/or wrinkling of skin, weight gain, and the weakening of both bone
and muscle tissue. Eventually, imbalances of testosterone can set the stage for the development of
more serious disease. Low testosterone levels can also disrupt the body's blood sugar metabolism,
leading to obesity and diabetes. Chronic deficiencies may also promote the early onset of
osteoporosis and heart disease.
Benefits of Testosterone Support Supplementation
• testosterone supplements can increase your sex drive
• testosterone supplements increase muscle while decreasing fat
• testosterone supplements improve energy levels

Benefits of Supplementing With Creatine
What is creatine?
Creatine is an amino acid (amino acids are the building blocks of protein) which is made in the
body by the liver and kidneys, and is derived from the diet through meat and animal products.
Creatine (creatine monohydrate) is a colorless, crystalline substance used in muscle tissue for the
production of phosphocreatine, an important factor in the formation of adenosine triphosphate
(ATP), the source of energy for muscle contraction and many other functions in the body.
What does creatine normally do in the body?
In the body, creatine is changed into a molecule called "phosphocreatine" which serves as a
storage reservoir for quick energy. Phosphocreatine is especially important in tissues such as the
voluntary muscles and the nervous system which periodically require large amounts of energy.
Why do athletes take creatine?
Studies have shown that creatine can increase the performance of athletes in activities that require
quick bursts of energy, such as sprinting, and can help athletes to recover faster after expending
bursts of energy. Creatine is best for the serious bodybuilder. It helps increase muscle mass, rather
than muscle endurance, so it’s not well suited for athletes participating in endurance activities.
However, the increase in muscle mass may be due to water retention and not an increase in
muscle tissue.
Why have I been hearing so much about creatine and neuromuscular disorders?
Two scientific studies have indicated that creatine may be beneficial for neuromuscular disorders.
First, a study by MDA-funded researcher M. Flint Beal of Cornell University Medical Center
demonstrated that creatine was twice as effective as the prescription drug riluzole in extending
the lives of mice with the degenerative neural disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou
Gehrig's disease). Second, a study by Canadian researchers Mark Tarnopolsky and Joan Martin of
McMaster University Medical Center in Ontario found that creatine can cause modest increases in
strength in people with a variety of neuromuscular disorders. Beal's work was published in the
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 13
March 1999 issue of Nature Neuroscience and the second paper was published in the March 1999
issue of Neurology.
I want to start taking creatine -- is it safe?
For the most part, athletes haven't experienced adverse side-effects from taking creatine, although
recently there have been a few reports of kidney damage linked to creatine usage. No consistent
toxicity has been reported in studies of creatine supplementation. Dehydration has also been
reported to be a problem while taking creatine.
Athletes generally take a "loading dose" of 20 grams of creatine a day for five or six days, then
continue with a "maintenance dose" of 2 to 5 grams of creatine a day thereafter.
What are the side effects?
Little is known about long-term side effects of creatine, but no consistent toxicity has been
reported in studies of creatine supplementation. In a study of side effects of creatine, diarrhea
was the most commonly reported adverse effect of creatine supplementation, followed by
muscle cramping.18 Some reports showed that kidney, liver, and blood functions were not
affected by short-term higher amounts or long-term lower amounts of creatine supplementation
in healthy young adults. In a small study of people taking 5–30 grams per day, no change in
kidney function appeared after up to five years of supplementation. Muscle cramping after
creatine supplementation has been anecdotally reported in some studies.
Benefits
• increases athletic performance
• increases muscle mass
• beneficial for muscular disorders
Homemade Whey Protein Shakes: Using Bodybuilding Supplements Creatively
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 14
If you are serious about building muscle mass or sculpting your body you most likely supplement
your diet with commercially available whey or soy protein powders (and possibly other
supplements). No doubt within a short period of time you discovered the protein shakes whey
powders produce may not be the best tasting drinks you've ever had. Despite this you try to stick
with them because your goal is a better body and a supplement shake that doesn't taste so great
is simply a sacrifice you make.
People find that the flavor of the protein shake powder they paid a good money for quickly gets
boring. If you are taking your protein shakes two or even three times a day it can become a real
chore. This is when people start to experiment a little by adding other ingredients to make their
protein shakes taste a little better.
You can soon turn your boring, often tasteless, protein shakes into mouth-watering bodybuilding
or dieting delights. All you need to have to get started is a blender and a little imagination.
Choosing What to Put in Your Protein Shakes
Before rushing off to your refrigerator to blend everything in site, let's go through some basic
principles you will want to consider first. Not only do you want to create the best tasting shakes
but you should also aim to make the most effective protein shakes for your dieting requirements.
This is important because there is no point throwing full fat ice cream, chocolate sauce, peanut
butter and full fat milk all together to create a wonderful tasting fat gaining shake. You need to
be a little wise when choosing your ingredients.
So what kinds of ingredients make good choices for your shakes? I recommend using the
following tips when getting your ingredients from the supermarket or refrigerator:
Try to keep as many of your ingredients as natural as possible. A good example of this is using
natural peanut butter instead of regular peanut butter. The natural version has better protein
content and also natural fats that are important in your diet.
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 15
Fresh fruit should be used whenever possible. Fruit contains the carbohydrates that will fuel your
workouts and your day. The complex sugars in fruit are important to any diet (unlike the simple
sugars in sweets, sodas, etc).
Think about ingredients that will boost your shake's protein content. For example, you could
throw a handful of nuts into the blender for a little extra protein without making the shake much
thicker. You could add a few raw egg whites (if you are worried about eating raw eggs you may
be able to find treated egg whites in cartons at your supermarket). You could always simply
dump an extra scoop of whey powder in there as well.
Make sure you have enough liquids. If you get a little too carried away you may discover your
shake is easier to eat with a spoon then drink from a glass. When you first start creating your
shakes it is a good idea to add your liquids (water, fat-free milk, fruit juices, etc.) in stages so that
you get your desired consistency.</li>
Examine the nutritional information for each ingredient and consider the impact it will have on
your dieting goals. For example, you may be opting for fat free (skimmed) milk if you aren't
trying to gain weight.
Always know what your goal is and make your shakes accordingly. If you are trying to shed the
fat you will be skipping the types of ingredients that add too many carbohydrates and fats while
trying to increase the protein content.
Think of how you might create a unique flavor. You can try things like cinnamon, vanilla, honey,
coconut milk, etc. Once you get the hang of this you will see the possibilities are endless.
Making Your Protein Shake
Once you have decided on the ingredients for your shake you are ready to start. It couldn't be
simpler and if you can make toast you won't have a problem. It's a good idea to think about the
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 16
order in which you will add your ingredients into the blender. Always add your main liquid
source first so that everything else you add afterwards is easily blended. Following this, add your
protein powder and give your blender a quick 'burst'. Now you are ready to add the rest of your
ingredients and blend until you get the right consistency. At this point you may want to add a
little more liquids to tweak your shake's thickness. Throw in five or six ice cubes to make your
shake more refreshing.
Now you can let your imagination invent all sorts of bodybuilding and dieting concoctions that
make your supplement shakes a great deal tastier. Don't forget to share your creations with
friends at the gym and people across the world through the internet. You will also discover many
ideas other people come up with to inspire you further. Visit websites and online forums for
recipes and you can get some ideas from my site's homemade protein shakes using whey
supplement powders section.
Happy blending!
Bee Supplements For Your Health

Bee Pollen
Bee pollen is often referred to as nature's most complete food. Human consumption of bee
pollen is praised in the Bible, other religious books, and ancient Chinese and Egyptian texts. Bee
pollen rejuvenates your body, stimulates organs and glands, enhances vitality, and brings about a
longer life span. Bee pollen's ability to consistently and noticeably increase energy levels makes it
a favorite substance among many world class athletes and those interested in sustaining and
enhancing quality performance.
Bee Propolis
Bee propolis, often called Nature’s penicillin, has historically been used to treat TB, ulcers,
mitosis, colitis and to boost immunity. Bee propolis has been shown to destroy bacteria, viruses,
fungus and even penicillin-resistant bacteria (staphylococcus). It contains bioflavonoids, one of
which (galangin) is a natural antibiotic. As well, Bee propolis boosts immune functioning,
specifically by increasing the activity of phagocytes (killer cells). Bee Propolis also inhibits
prostaglandin production, thereby stopping inflammation.
Bee Propolis is a resin collected from plants by bees and used in the construction of hives. Bees
adopted sterilization habits long before humans. The most sterile place in nature is the bee hive.
Propolis is the natural substance responsible for neutralizing any bacteria, fungi or virus which
enters the hive. One of the most powerful foods found in nature, Propolis is a highly complex
mixture of waxes, resins, balsams, oils and a small amount of pollen.
Bee Propolis is a waxy substance collected by honey bees which contains phytotonizides.
Phytotonizides are believed to contain immunity factors, which when used internally, stimulates
the body and gives it a natural resistance to diseases (a natural antibiotic). Propolis is gathered
from all around the world, and proper temperature control will assure maximum freshness and
consistency.
As a supplement, Bee Propolis is an excellent aid against bacterial infections. Stimulates
'phagocytosis'; helps white blood cells to destroy bacteria. Good results against inflammation of
the mucous membranes of the mouth and the throat, dry cough, halitosis, tonsillitis, ulcers, and
acne. Stimulates immune system.
Royal Jelly
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 18
Royal Jelly is a substance of complex chemical structure produced by the young nurse bees as
larva food. Although it is not quite as well known as bee pollen, royal jelly equals pollen in its
salutary effects.
The young nurse bees make royal jelly, it is a secretion from glands on the tops of their heads.
For 2-3 days, royal jelly is the only food given to all young larvae in their maturation process,
while for the queen larvae, it is the specific food for their whole life period. During the 3 days in
which the worker bee larvae are fed on royal jelly, they reach the maximum development; their
weight multiplies about 250 times. The queen (fed only on royal jelly for her entire life) reaches
maturity 5 days earlier than the worker bees; and, when she is fully grown, her weight is double
that of the working bee. The span of the worker bee's life is about 35-40 days; while the queen
lives 5-6 years and is extremely prolific. She is fertilized once, and from that moment on can lay
as many as three thousand eggs a day during the season. As incredible as this may seem, she can
lay that many eggs for five years.
This rich concentrated food is not just useful for the bees. It contains remarkable amounts of
proteins, lipids, glucides, vitamins, hormones, enzymes, mineral substances, and specific vital
factors that act as biocatalysts in cell regeneration processes within the human body.

Colloidal Silver Immune Support - Snake Oil Or
Supplement ?
Colloidal silver has exploded on the web as a supplement, heralded as a cure all, and cursed by
some officials that seem to be motivated by the large pharmaceuticals.
Finally the veil has been lifted from the cloaked Colloidal Silver story. The confusion is removed
from the arena of use. Will this early 20th century patented drug, turned over the counter
supplement, cure what ails you or is it just so much hype that will take your money?
Colloidal silver has exploded on the web as a supplement, heralded as a cure all, and cursed by
some officials that seem to be motivated by the large pharmaceuticals.
Colloidal silver was used as a natural antibiotic prior to the discovery of penicillin. The new
antibacterial agent was the drug of favor worldwide. Colloidal silver was shoved to the back of
medical consciousness and found little use after 1929. But wait, the medical world did not stop
using silver. The overwhelming healing qualities of silver are continued even now in the world’s
burn centers and millions of babies have had a silver concentrate flushed into their eyes
immediately after birth.
So if this natural antibiotic was once used so widely, why did the physicians stop using it? Did
bacteria develop a resistance to colloidal silver? Did it stop working? The answer seems to be a
pharmaceutical decision. No resistance was developed to colloidal silver by bacteria and the
benefits are as good today as they were prior to 1929.
A few wise doctors continued to use colloidal silver and some wise patients remembered this
silver concoction and readily continued its use as it became an over the counter “supplement”.
The immune system fights all intrusive germs, bacteria and disease to prevent the body from
falling victim to disease.
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 20
Like any substance that is taken in excess the body treats overdoses of a substance as a toxin and
rejects the immune system overload. Wheat eaten in excess is poisonous to the body. We
recognize that excess grain in horses will cause them to founder and in some cases die. The effect
would be similar in humans. Colloidal silver when ingested in the amounts recommended as a
supplement has clinically shown to be an immune system support guarding against viral infections
and bacterial infections.
Some manufacturers of colloidal silver used to make a solution of silver chloride. This is not
desirable as it will cause the silver to accumulate under the skin giving a light blue hue to the skin.
There are no known side effects in taking colloidal silver that is properly made and consumed.
There are no recorded deaths from taking this immune system support boosting supplement, but
plenty of government pressure trying to halt the sale for no other apparent reason than to
appease the heavy lobbying pharmaceutical companies that seem to now want to prescribe this
remedy again.
Colloidal silver has been sold as a dietary supplement for the immune system in every major
health food chain in the country for over 25 years. The concentration of 1100 ppm used to be
the “standard” available in 4 once bottles. It can be made up to 5 ppm in the home with a 9 volt
battery, two silver leads in a glass of distilled water.
Testimonials have filled hundreds of web pages of how colloidal silver has been beneficial. These
unsolicited accounts testify of a natural antibiotic that has powers beyond just being an immune
system support “supplement”.
How Can Green Tea Benefit My Family?
Are you giving your family this powerful AntiOxidant
No doubt you've heard of Green Tea and the health benefits you can experience from drinking
it.
Are you giving your family this powerful antioxidant daily?
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 21
Here is a refresher on some of the benefits you can experience with Green Tea.
Historically, Green Tea has been one of the world's most popular beverages. The Chinese have
been drinking it for thousands of years. It is now the second most popular beverage in the world,
after water!
Green tea is made from the Camellia Sinensis plant...as is black tea. The difference is that Green
Tea is unfermented, which means that the powerful antioxidant properties are fully intact.
The power of Green Tea lies in its catechin polyphenols, particularly something called
epigallocatechin gallate (say that 5 times fast!). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: not only does it
inhibit the growth of tumors, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue.
Green Tea has been reported to:
*Assist in weight loss.
According to a a study conducted at the University of Geneva in Switzerland, Green Tea seems to
help the body burn more calories.
Green Tea also slows down the release of carbohydrate in the body, preventing sharp rises in
blood sugar.
I know a couple who lost ten pounds each in the first few weeks after drinking Green Tea every
day, with no other changes in their diet.
*Boosts the immune system.

Green Tea is one of the most potent antioxidants available. It also contains some vitamins and
minerals. Green Tea lowers the risk of cancer.
In 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published the results of an epidemiological
study indicating that drinking Green Tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in Chinese men
and women by nearly sixty percent. University of Purdue researchers recently concluded that a
compound in Green Tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells.
A study in September 1997 by the University of Kansas reported that Green Tea has the highest
amount of any known antioxidant. EGCG (that tongue twisting antioxidant found in Green Tea)
is 100 times more effective than Vitamin C, and twice as powerful as resveratrol (the antioxidant
in red wine).
*Lowers cholesterol
University of California scientists discovered that the caffeine in coffee is bound with coffee bean
oils, which raise cholesterol levels.
In contrast, research indicates that drinking Green Tea lowers total cholesterol levels, as well as
improving the ratio of good (HDL) cholesterol to bad (LDL) cholesterol.
Green Tea Benefits Moms
*Helps with morning sickness
There are no studies that confirm this, this is a personal observation.
My wife had severe, prolonged morning sickness with all 3 of her pregnancies.

With our third child, I discovered Green Tea and noticed that when she drank it, not only did it
ease the nausea, but it seemed to have a mildly stimulating effect on her appetite and it helped
her keep the food that she ate down. My guess is that the astringent effect of the polyphenols
caused this.
Historically Green Tea has been used as a digestive aid. That can certainly be helpful to a
pregnant woman.
*Natural energy boost
Again, I could find no studies that proved this, but I drink Green Tea primarily for the natural
energy boost it gives me, without any unpleasant side effects. I used to drink a coffee in the
afternoon, get shaky and hyper, only to crash later on.
Green Tea doesn't cause those unpleasant side effects, and it also gives me the same feeling of
"clearing the cobwebs" from my brain.
What Mom doesn't need this?
*Lowers the risk of blood clots
Green tea has been shown to be effective in preventing abnormal clotting of blood, which is
especially important during pregnancy.
Green tea is non-toxic and safe. It doesn't cause birth defects and has no adverse affect on
pregnancy or breastfeeding.
In fact, a study conducted at Kaiser Permanente Medical Care Program of Northern California,
researchers found that women who drank more than one half cup of green tea every day
doubled their odds of conceiving.

No significant association was found for other beverages, researchers concluded that some
chemical component of tea might have been responsible for the increase in fertility.
Green Tea Benefits Kids!
*Helps prevent tooth decay
Green Tea can kill the bacteria that causes plaque. Does your child's juice do that?
Having a hard time getting your kid to eat his veggies?
A cup of Green Tea has more antioxidant ability than a cup of broccoli or spinach!
*Helps prevent illness
Previous tests prove Green Tea can neutralize germs, including some that cause diarrhea,
pneumonia, cystitis and skin infections.
New research by Milton Schiffenbauer of Pace University finds that Green Tea deactivates viruses.
Recent research at Harvard indicated that tea chemicals stimulated T-cells that bolster immunity
against bacteria and viruses.
Would fewer illnesses make life more pleasant in your home?
*Ok, so why aren't you drinking Green Tea already?

Natural Sex Supplements
Sexual stimulants claim to arouse or increase sexual desire, or libido. A broader definition
includes products that improve sexual performance. Aphrodisiacs, named after Aphrodite, the
Greek goddess of sexual love and beauty, the list of supposed sexual stimulants includes
anchovies and adrenaline, licorice and lard, scallops and Spanish fly, and hundreds of other items.
Here is a very partial list of some herbal ingredients commonly found in sexual
enhancers/stimulants:
Avena Sative (Wild Oats)
Avena sativa, or oats, have long been used by breeders to help male animals "sow their oats" or
boost their fertility. Avena Sativa is one of the best remedies to feed the nervous system when
under stress and strengthen it to handle the situation. It works to calm down performance
anxiety.
Brazilian Catuba Bark
Brazil's most famous and highly regarded libido booster. It is considered a central nervous system
stimulant and used for sexual weakness and lowered libido in both men and women.

A tree that grows throughout the African nations of Cameroon, Gabon and Zaire. (A similar plant
in South America is called Quebracho). The bark has been smoked as a hallucinogen and has been
used in traditional medicine to treat angina and hypertension. The herb is a sensual stimulant for
healthy men and women.
American Ginseng
American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius, L.) is a perennial herb and grows wild in deciduous
forests of the eastern United States. American ginseng is an erect plant that reaches a height of 0.3
to 0.7 meters and has fusiform roots, greenish-white flowers and red berries. The roots and
rhizomes are often branched or forked, and they bring a premium price if they resemble a human
form. Wild ginseng once thrived along most of the nation's eastern seaboard, from Maine to
Alabama and west to Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. American ginseng, (panax
quinquefolium) was at one time plentiful in all mountainous regions of the United States.
However, it was over-harvested in the mid-1970s, and was subsequently defined as an
endangered species. Now, only licensed ginseng harvesters are allowed to dig for the wild
ginseng root.
Ginseng was one of the earliest marketable herbs harvested in the United States. Wild ginseng
was one of Minnesota's first major exports. In 1860, more than 120 tons of dried ginseng roots
were shipped from the Minnesota to China. American ginseng is similar to Asian ginseng, Panax
ginseng, L. that grows wild in Northern Manchuria and has been harvested there for thousands of
years. Currently, 18 states issue licenses to export it. In Wisconsin and several other states where
ginseng is cultivated, a permit is not required to export artificially propagated ginseng.
American ginseng is also commonly cultivated. It is relatively easy to grow. The root takes
approximately 5 years to reach harvesting maturity. American ginseng plants are generally started
from seeds. Seedlings or roots for transplanting are available commercially but used infrequently.
Seeds are planted in the fall and germinate in the spring.

American Ginseng is not a drug and should not be taken as such. The Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) has classified it as a “generally recognized safe food” (GRAS).
Acidophilus: Lactobacillus Acidophilus ABC
Lactobacillus acidophilus is a lactic acid producing bacteria. Some scientifics think that acidophilus
have beneficial effects on digestion and overall health. Acidophilus can be found in yogurt and
other dairy products, which named acidophilus as probiotics.
Acidophilus aids digestive system, because different factors decrease the number of lactic acid
producing bacteria that live and work in the gastrointestinal tract and protect us from harmful
disease-causing bacteria. Among these factors, it is possible to find narcotics, alcohol, diet
deficiencies, aging, antibiotics, drugs, medications, nicotine, and stressful living.
The digestion of food begins in the alimentary canal, mouth and stomach, and finally in the
intestines, where millions of microorganisms, working simultaneously, metabolize the partially-
digested food. Digestion can be impaired, short-changing us of the full nutritional value from
foods, if there is too small a colony of L. acidophilus and other friendly bacteria, such as L.
bulgaricus and L. bifidus. Also a fewer quantity of key vitamins will be synthesized and the
immune system may be rendered less effective.
According to some health professionals, acidophilus aids the digestive process, helps correct
constipation, diarrhea, mucous colitis and diverticulitis. It also reduces blood cholesterol,
enhances the absorption of nutrients, sweetens bad breath, treats acne and other skin disorders,
conquers harmful bacteria and certain viruses, helps alleviate candidiasis and other vaginal
infections, and may even prevent cancer.
There is no solid scientific evidence for these claims according to some experts, but lactic acid-
producing microorganisms, such as L. acidophilus, have been called a “second immune system”,
because they put the brakes on growth of disease-causing bacteria, such as shigella-caused
dysentery and salmonella and various types of diarrhea.

Acidophilus: Acidophilus Supplements May Help Million People with Digestive Diseases
According to the National Digestive Disease information clearinghouse in Bethesda, MD, 60 to
70 million Americans suffer from digestive diseases; however, acidophilus supplements may help
them to diminish their digestive conditions.
Procedures of current commercial food processing can destroy viable beneficial organisms,
making it difficult for the body to maintain good intestinal flora. Even the majority of yogurt
products no longer contain a viable acidophilus culture. Poor intestinal flora is, at times, due to
preservatives, additives, alcohol, high-fat diets, birth control pills, and stress.
Intestinal flora is often damage by antibiotics drugs, which kill all kinds of bacteria, both good
and bad. Antibiotic effects on intestinal flora can last for weeks even after the drug is
discontinued. This situation may lead to allergies, fatigue, yeast overgrowth, poor digestion and
chronic infections, among other things.
Beneficial bacteria can be reintroduced into the system by acidophilus supplements. Acidophilus
supplementation has important benefits not only for digestive system, according to experts, such
as: Keeping constipation and diarrhea under control; reduction of bad breath; counteracting
lactose intolerance by its association with lactase; cholesterol control by promoting normal
absorption of dietary fats; reduction of internal gas; suppression of candida yeast; prevention of
intestinal contamination from infectious organisms common in some foreign countries; and
suppression of a number of intestinal disorders.
Acidophilus contains bacteria that have a symbiotic, or mutually beneficial, relationship with the
human stomach. It is a nutritional supplement product, which is often added to milk or other
dairy products or it is also sold as a capsule.

Acidophilus: Acidophilus May Cure Yeast Infections and Vaginitis
Lactobacillus acidophilus may cure different diseases according to some experts. It is a lactic acid
producing bacteria that it is thought to have beneficial effects on digestion and overall health.
Under some experts, yogurt with acidophilus culture and acidophilus on its own has been shown
to clear up yeast infections and vaginitis in children and adults, among other properties.
Acidophilus –experts explain- is a nutritional supplement product, which is often added to milk
or sold as a capsule. It contains one or more bacteria which aid in digestion. Among these
bacteria, you can find Lactobacillus acidophilus (A); Lactobacillus casei (C); Lactobacillus
bulgaricus; Bifidobacterium bifidus (B) and Streptococcus thermophilus.
L. acidophilus, however, is not present in all brands of yogurt. So, you will have to check the
labels of products. Acidophilus supplements usually work quickly and effectively. This occurs
because they contain as many as one billion individual friendly bacteria per gram.
However, for those who cannot use milk products, acidophilus is also present in carrots,
soybeans, rice starch, garbanzo beans and other sources. Health food stores carry a variety of
acidophilus supplements in capsule, liquid and powder form. Some of the formulas contain
bifidobacteria, another helpful bacterium, as well as vitamin C and other nutrients.
With the powder, you can make your own yogurt-type drink. For best results, acidophilus
supplements should be taken on an empty stomach before breakfast, one hour before other
meals. Many who have difficulty digesting ordinary dairy products often have success with
cultured milk products, such as yogurt or acidophilus milk.

Natural Cholesterol Control Supplements
The body needs cholesterol for digesting dietary fats, making hormones, building cell walls, and
other important processes. The bloodstream carries cholesterol in particles called lipoproteins that
are like blood-borne cargo trucks delivering cholesterol to various body tissues to be used, stored
or excreted. But too much of this circulating cholesterol can injure arteries, especially the
coronary ones that supply the heart. This leads to accumulation of cholesterol-laden "plaque" in
vessel linings, a condition called atherosclerosis.
When blood flow to the heart is impeded, the heart muscle becomes starved for oxygen, causing
chest pain (angina). If a blood clot completely obstructs a coronary artery affected by
atherosclerosis, a heart attack (myocardial infarction) or death can occur.
Heart disease is the number one killer of both men and women in the United States. More than
90 million American adults, or about 50 percent, have elevated blood cholesterol levels, one of
the key risk factors for heart disease, according to the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's
National Cholesterol Education Program.
Cholesterol lowering supplements containing Policosanol or Red Yeast Rice are known to assist in
lowering cholesterol levels.
Policosanol
Policosanol is a natural supplement derived from sugar cane. It is a mixture of eight higher
primary aliphatic alcohols isolated and purified from sugar cane wax. One of the newest and
more successful substances that benefits those suffering from high cholesterol is Policosanol, which
is a safe and natural extract from sugar cane wax. It works by helping the liver control
production and breakdown of cholesterol. Policosanol promotes healthy platelet function and
helps to maintain cholesterol levels that are already within the normal range.

Red Yeast Rice
Red Yeast Rice is the product of yeast ( Monascus purpureus ) grown on rice, and is served as a
dietary staple in some Asian countries. It contains several compounds collectively known as
Monacolins, substances known to inhibit cholesterol synthesis. Red Yeast Rice is proposed to be a
mild aid for gastric problems (indigestion, diarrhea), blood circulation and spleen and stomach
health.
Rosemary - A New Treatment For Low Blood Pressure?
Rudolf Weiss, the German herbalist, has some interesting ideas on low blood pressure. He
describes it as being simply an aspect of a more deep seated problem. He also believes that when
people have low blood pressure but no symptoms, that it does not require treatment. I do not
suggest that this should replace your doctor's advice though! But I find it interesting, as a possible
complementary treatment option, to consider his view that low blood pressure is the product of
a weak circulation. As such, gentle herbs that support circulation may be a useful adjunct to
whatever other therapy is suggested.
He stresses the underlying factor of a regulatory imbalance. And he suggests herbs like rosemary,
that have a tonic effect, would be a useful support. Particularly in times of mental or physical
stress, or after surgery, or some other illness that may have weakened the body, like the flu. He
does say that treatment should only be for a limited time. He makes the point that life insurance
statistics indicate that people with hypotension on average live longer than people with blood
pressure in the normal range. (Weiss, p185)
Rosemary is quite a diverse herb. It is used effectively for headaches, particularly migraine. The
herbalist Michael Tierra writes that many headaches are caused by stomach problems, and that
the volatile oils in rosemary have a very beneficial and calming effect on the stomach. Rosemary
also contains salicylic acid, which is the precursor of aspirin. Though being in plant form it doesn't
have the long term side effects.
Rosemary is excellent for the circulation, and is often prescribed by herbalists for circulatory
weakness (Fisher & Painter). The active constituents known as the flavanoids are heart and blood
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 33
vessel tonics. So, as well as hypotension, rosemary is suggested for poor circulation, hypertensive
headaches, and arrhythmias.
Externally, rosemary spirit is used for rheumatic problems (Weiss). It can also be massaged into
the heart area.
Another active constituent of rosemary is rosemarinic acid, which is a phenolic acid. Rosemarinic
acid has an anti-inflammatory effect. A study found that a rosemarinic preparation was effective
in treating allergic asthma. It has also been found to suppress synovitis in mice. Synovitis is an
inflammation of the lining of the joints, with swelling, which is quite painful. It is involved in
rheumatoid arthritis. Rosemarinic acid can also prevent the activation of prostacyclin and
complement, which leads to hypotension (Fisher & Painter).
Overall, this suggests that scientific research supports the herbalist's uses of rosemary for
hypotension, poor circulation, and rheumatic problems such as rheumatoid arthritis. One
problem has been that products which contained rosemary had quite low concentrations,
although some supplement manufacturers have begun to make a very concentrated rosemary
product. Concentrations of rosemarinic acid in theserange from 5% to 70%. And given that
rosemarinic acid is an incredibly powerful antioxidant as well, this would make it a good choice
for preventing heart disease.
Natural Immune Building Supplements
How Echinacea helps the immune system:
In this day and age everyone is looking for ways to boost their immune system. In recent years
there has been an herbal remedy that seems to provide some relief to colds and flues and assist
your immune system is Echinacea.
Zip Gould’s Natural Supplement Guide
ZipGould.com All Rights Reserved Page 34
What is it?
Echinacea is one of the oldest and popular herbal supplements in the world. Echinacea is a Native
American plant that is a natural fighter. It is categorized as an immune stimulant, which is a
substance that is known to boost a body’s immune system.
How does your immune system work?
White blood cells are part of the body’s cells that make up the immune system. These are the
body’s first line of defense. If a flu virus enters an individual’s body and begins to multiple, the
white blood cells calls in for help from the T-lymphocytes, and also they can get help from
lymphocytes. All these working together allow the body to destroy the viruses that have invaded
it.
How does it work?
Echinacea works differently from other treatments. It works directly, killing the germ by
strengthening an individual’s immune system. There is evidence that Echinacea stimulates the
body into producing more white blood cells. It also stimulates the release of interferons. These
are what the body uses as a fighting weapon. Echinacea also helps to prevent bacteria from
producing an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which works through the membrane, and invades the
tissue. Echinacea also has been known to destroy viruses, such as the common cold and flu.
How to take it
This depends on an individual’s immune system. You may want to check with your doctor
before. They are some illnesses that you should not take Echinacea if you have. In most cases, it is
safe for an individual to take three hundred milligrams three times a day.
Some individuals take Echinacea on a daily basis to prevent colds and flues from developing.
Others people will begin to take it once they feel a cold coming on, and to greet it with a line of
defense.

If you have a child, the studies on how Echinacea can help them has been up in the air. It is
recommended that you for children ages six to thirteen you give them half the dosage
recommended for adults. Under the age of six, you should consult your doctor. Children’s
immune systems work differently than adults, many times they have not built up all of their
resistance and need to do that before bolstering it with herbal supplements.
Does it work?
While Echinacea is just gaining ground in the United States, it has been research in Europe.
Echinacea has been studied in Germany in a controlled study. No one knew which they were
getting. The individuals who took the Echinacea experienced less frequent and severe virus
infections. Studies continue to show that there are no toxic effects to taking this herbal
supplement. As with any medication or supplement they are some side effects, some side effects
with Echinacea are diarrhea. This has been the most frequent side effect anyone has noted.
They are many things that an individual can do to help to boost your immune system. Taking
Echinacea is just one of the natural herbal supplements that we can take. Studies continue to
show the effectiveness of this supplement, and as more and more people continue to look to
other alternatives, Echinacea will continue to gain in popularity. Remember to always check with
you doctor before taking any supplement as it could have an interaction with any medication
you are currently taking and could have a negative reaction.

Natural Health Supplements for Mental, Physical
Health and Meditation
No matter your physical condition or what stage of life you may be in, health supplements can
go far to improve your overall wellbeing. People use health supplements for one of three factors
– they want to improve their mental, physical or social health.
The key to finding high quality health supplements is to search for ones which support your

from herbs/plants contain all of the life-affirming nutrients that the human body needs to fight
disease and illness. They also work to bring greater vitality to your life because a healthy body
improves self-esteem and happiness.
Proxacine is a good example of a health supplement that supports and improves mental, physical
and social health. Proxacine works as 1) anti-agent 2) pain reducer 3) immune system booster 4)
energy booster. Its combination of natural, powerful ingredients works to increase libido,
improve memory and learning, maintain glutathione levels, detoxify the body, digest protein,
and above all it work to bind positive and negative ions in the body. Proxacine is a powerful,
natural anti-oxidant and is a great scavenger of free-radicals. It has a wide range of medicinal
properties and it enhances mental well-being.
There are a wide variety of health supplements in the marketplace today. Some work to improve
energy, while others work to boost the immune system, promote sexual health, and fight cancer
and more. Many of today’s mysterious illness (such as chronic fatigue syndrome, leaky gut) are
being treated with health supplements. Once the system is rebalanced through health
supplements, energy improves and the immune system is boosted and capable of fighting off
disease and other infirmities.
It is interesting to note that health supplements are not just for the ill. Health supplements can
greatly benefit the healthy, too. When health supplements are incorporated into a healthy
individual’s diet, they can go far to enhance energy, libido, self-esteem, as well as keeping any

hereditary diseases dormant and inactive. Feeling that your sex drive or energy levels are
waning? Start taking a natural health supplement and you will see an increase in your libido and
energy – which will in turn improve your mental health and social life.
When searching for health supplements, look for those that are natural and made up of
plants/herbs. Remember that natural health supplements work on the three components of
health: mental, physical and social. These three areas are not independent of one another and
are interrelated. Therefore, they should be treated as a whole.
Meditation is a brilliant way to reset the mind and body. I encourage each person to take 20 min
in morning and 20 min at night to reflect not judge but just focus our intention on connecting
with Christ Consciousness, God or whatever you call your source. This will give you balance in
all areas in your life.
