FraumünsterOf all Zurich’s church spires, the slender, blue spire of Fraumünster is the most graceful. The church holds a special treasure: three world famous stained glass windows designed by Marc Chagall.

Bürkliplatz & Lakeside PromenadeAt the end of the 19th century, a promenade with avenues, lawns and parks was created along the shores of the lake. Bürkliplatz attracts you with a fantastic view of boats navigating on Lake Zurich and a breeze from the lake. On clear days you can even see some Alpine peaks.

Opera HouseAllthough it seats over 1,100 spectators, the Zurich Opera House is one of the smallest international opera houses. It nevertheless offers top quality opera and ballet performances as well as concerts.

LindenhofA marvelous view of the River Limmat and the picturesque Old Town with its towers and roofs can be enjoyed right in the city center. This public square was the site of a Roman fort in the 4th century.

National Museum Zurich The spectacular building next to the city’s main station is reminiscent of a fairytale castle. It houses the National Museum, which boasts the country’s largest cultural and historical collection, and is always worth a visit.

Swiss Casinos ZurichSwitzerland’s largest casino makes gamblers’ hearts beat faster. Try your luck at the Swiss Casinos Zurich, covering 3,000 square meters, with over 300 gaming machines and 24 gaming tables. After a pleasant drink in the comfortable lounge, it’s time for ‘faites vos jeux’ – now, keep your cards close to your chest!

Zurich-WestZurich has the reputation of being one of Europe’s trendiest cities. The lively neighborhood of Zurich-West does a lot to contribute to this image. The former industrial area has been transformed into a hip district, with design stores, contemporary art galleries, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

GrossmünsterWith its twin towers, the Grossmünster is one of Zurich’s most famous landmarks. According to the legend, Charlemagne discovered the graves of the city’s martyrs here and had a church built on the spot.

UetlibergAt 869m (2,850ft) above sea level, Uetliberg towers over the rooftops of Zurich. The mountain offers an impressive panoramic view of the city, the lake and the Alps.

Bahnhofstrasse & ParadeplatzWho hasn’t heard about it? The Bahnhofstrasse is one of the most beautiful shopping streets in Europe. Elegant fashion shops, department stores and retail shops of all sorts attract and delight shopping addicts from all over the world.

KunsthausThe Kunsthaus Zurich is one of Switzerland’s most important museums. It boasts a noteworthy permanent art collection spanning from the Middle Ages to modern art, and is also renown for its temporary exhibitions.

ETH & UniversityThe terrace in front of the imposing building of the world famous Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) offers a fantastic view of the Old Town. The University of Zurich, which lies just next to the ETH, can be reached with the Polybahn funicular.

FIFA World Football MuseumCovering approx. 3,000 square meters (32,500sq.ft) of exhibition space, the museum examines all aspects of the world of football. An interactive world illustrates how the game stirs people’s emotions on a daily basis.

Wooden Bridge, Rapperswil-HurdenLake Zurich lies on a pilgrim route. The wooden walkway between Rapperswil and Hurden is part of the Way of St. James to Santiago de Compostela. With its 841 meters it is the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland and offers fantastic views.

Amden-WeesenThe region Amden is located on a sunny terrace high above the Lake Walen. The small destination also includes the historic town Weesen on the banks of the lake. The two cities combine summer and winter attractions with an alpine idyll and a southern beach atmosphere.

Monastery & Abbey church, EinsiedelnThe magnificent Baroque construction of the monastery and the Lady Chapel (with Black Madonna) are the main attractions most visitors come to Einsiedeln to see. The Salve Regina, a choral song in several voices is sung in the chapel daily at 4.30pm.

Sechseläuten (Spring Festival)The “Sächsilüüte” is an annual highlight in Zurich. The celebrations generally begin on the second or third Sunday in April with a colorful children’s procession before members of the guilds begin their procession on the Monday with 3,500 people, 350 riders, 50 horse-drawn wagons and 30 brass bands.

Zurich Festival This festival is organized together with Zurich’s cultural institutions. Focusing on a joint theme, these venues present theater, opera, concerts, dance, exhibitions, readings and discussions over a period of four weeks.

Zurich Pride Festival On the program of the Zurich Pride Festival are countless parties, a politically motivated demonstration march and a two-day street festival. The venue is transformed into a hotspot with bars, food and drink stands, large-scale stage shows, parties, LGBT+ oriented conventions and cultural performances.

Street Parade The Street Parade sparks an incredible party atmosphere with 30 love mobiles, hundreds of DJs and seven stages around the Lake Zurich basin. It is the largest techno party in the world and an indisputable highlight of Zurich's event calendar.

Zurich Film Festival The Zurich Film Festival provides its large audience with an inside look at the work of young up-and-coming filmmakers from around the world and awards the coveted “Goldenes Auge” prize in the competitive category.
