Stewardship Reflections
“Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the
crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be
because of their inability to repay you." (Luke 14:13-14)
We have a difficult time with the concept of giving without expecting something in return. Even when we give to charity we often want something in return – a
raffle ticket, a dinner, a chance to play golf or our name in print. Yet, as Christian stewards, we need to
remember that the true reward for our giving awaits us in heaven.

Top 10 St. Teresa of Calcutta
Quotes of All Time
Many of us have been anticipating the day in which we could call our beloved Mother Teresa, Saint Teresa of Calcutta. She lived her life as a witness to this generation of Catholics and was canonized by Pope Francis on September 4th, 2016. Because of modern technology, we are have been able to have a more intimate view of her life than we have ever been able to have of most previous saints. These glimpses of her saintly life come to us through moving photographs and powerful videos.
We’ve witnessed her dedication to serving Christ by giving her life to the poorest of the poor. We’ve watched her embrace everyone from lepers and abandoned babies to leaders of nations and the Popes of her time. We’ve been blessed to hear her give speeches that range from accepting the Nobel Peace Prize to the National Prayer Breakfast in 1994. We have even been given the gift of reading some of her most inti-mate thoughts and struggles so that we may overcome times of darkness in our own spiritual life.
St. Teresa of Calcutta was more than just a woman with words of wisdom. Her actions and her humility spoke louder than anything she ever said. As you reflect on these quotes, envision the life she lived for God.
