Lot of data is available in each Government Department Value addition to these Data?
© GSDL, 2013
1. We do not know who has got what data?
…… Catalogues not accessible
© GSDL, 2013
2. Even if we know who has what data, we do not know
…..“ Metadata (details of data)” …
© GSDL, 2013
3. Even if we can access the data we cannot use it as ….
….. data follows multiplicity of standards in terms of scale , projection, accuracy, content and format
© GSDL, 2013
4. Even if the data gets standardised, there may be
• Restrictive policy regimes • Reluctance to share • Store in different locations

Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI)
“The SDI provides a basis for
spatial data discovery, evaluation,
and application for users and
providers within all levels of
government, the commercial
sector, the non-profit sector,

Maintenance & Updation of Spatial Infrastructure of DJB by field sheets
• Regular process of updation of GIS data in Delhi Jal Board
• Requirement of mapping of assets on field and updation as GIS database. GSDL initiated the creation, printing & submission of DJB utility maps on three levels viz. division-wise, ward-wise and field sheets on 1:1,000 scale
• Automatic updations automatically syncs with the DSSDI database at
control centre through the MPLS network. • Base for the utility data updation mechanism.

One more step toward Geospatial after DSSDI Project To enhance the usefulness & effectiveness of the
Delhi State Spatial Data Infrastructure (DSSDI) datasets and infrastructure
Ensure the practical usage of DSSDI datasets in good governance across the stakeholder departments of GNCTD
Enhance facilities of geospatial data and attribute data handling (addition, updation and validation)
Geospatial in workflow of stakeholder departments Capacity building of the stakeholder departments
