ince the 1940s, Fraternity & Sorority Life has been integral to the rich history of Bowling Green
State University (BGSU). Thousands of students have benefitted from the traditions and rituals
that are part of this unique experience. Your own involvement has advanced this legacy.
Now, you can be a part of creating the future for Fraternity & Sorority Life at BGSU.
In 2010, BGSU launched a comprehensive initiative to strengthen the Fraternity & Sorority
Life program. Join this commitment to improve the services offered to members, increase
membership, and construct state-of-the-art houses for chapters. Your commitment will honor
our historic past and create a future, showcasing everything that the fraternity and sorority
community has to offer for years to come.

ince the launch of this plan, great strides have been made in each of these focus areas.
Currently, our community is 1,700 active members strong; this overall membership has grown
to 12.5 percent of the undergraduate student body. Our 39 chapters contribute to an average
G.P.A. of 3.127, and involvement outside of the classroom is at an all-time high with
40,000 hours of community service completed and $100,000 raised for charity annually.
In August 2016, new Greek housing will open, providing a home to a thriving community of
student leaders. These homes will be at the center of every memory undergraduates have
during their time with their chapter.

Bowling Green State University Greek Housing Plans - Bedroom Units
March 3rd, 2015BGSU 18
t takes a village to create a premier fraternity and sorority community. At Bowling Green State University, the fraternal experience has a long tradition of excellence because of the strong partnership between current undergraduate members, staff and alumni.
Our alumni are a key component to a chapter’s long-term success. They support their chapters and the University Greek community through gifts of time, talents and treasure. As BGSU looks ahead to advancing the fraternity and sorority community, the priorities for support are:
Scholarships As state funding continues to decline, our highest priority is to provide access to education for all of our undergraduate chapter members. Scholarships help bridge the financial gap for many of our members, and may be awarded for academic excellence, service and leadership, as well as for recognition of membership accomplishments such as new or active member of the year, president of the year or Greek man or woman of the year.
Programming Support Each chapter’s programming offers enhancements to the members’ experiences, whether it is attending a conference or helping offset annual fees associated with new housing (i.e., parlor fees). Gifts made toward programming support can make a difference for the chapter and its members.

Greek Housing Upgrades The Greek housing project is an exciting time as we prepare for the next phase in our chapters’ existence on campus. There are multiple ways the townhouses can be enhanced through additional gifts, from customizing the flooring and wood trim to installing stainless steel appliances and upgraded technology.
Select Naming Opportunities The new housing units will bring a whole new sense of community to the campus. There are select naming opportunities available for site enhancements, including courtyard and green spaces, gateway entrances to the Village, as well as a promenade walkway through the site.
Alumni and friends may make contributions and learn more about the project at www.bgsu.edu/greekhousingproject.
