FATHER JACK HEADING BACK HOME
I am happy to report that I am making steady progress with my rehab at Jim Thorpe. On Monday I was able to be transported to the church and rectory for an evaluation to determine safety and special equipment needs. What a wonderful feeling to be home if only for a couple of hours! On that same day, I learned that the target date for my moving home is Friday, July 26—one month from the day of my accident.
Your prayers, cards, visits, and goodies have made all the difference in the world. The hospital staff are always saying they have never seen so many cards! I will need further assistance from caregivers during the next phase of my rehab. Let Janie know if you can help with food prep, dressing, etc.
This accident had a purpose—to remind me of how God loves and takes care of us through the lives of others. Thank you, God, for loving me more dearly, seeing me more clearly......day by day by day. In the meantime, I have asked our senior Deacon, Angus Watford, to assist me and the staff in administering the parish. He has graciously consented and will be doing whatever he can to help out until such time as I am ready to fully resume my duties as Pastor.
I love you all for loving me more than I deserve,
Father Jack

BOB BUSSA TO RETIRE IN AUGUST!
After serving as Maintenance Director for over 20 years, Bob Bussa has decided to retire. There will be an opportunity to celebrate with him on Sunday August 25th after the 11:45am Mass. Fortunately Bob isn’t going anywhere, he will continue as a member of our parish; and is looking forward to traveling and spending more time with his family and grand children. Bob’s retirement provides us with the need to hire a new Church Custodian. Further information about the job can be found in the adjoining column.
Don’t forget to complete and return your service opportunity cards to the basket in the commons. We will leave blank cards there if you need one. And THANK YOU for serving our parish family!
