Earn Your Degree Close To Home
EOSC offers associate degree and certification programs
at four locations in southeast Oklahoma to meet the needs
of a diverse community of students. Whether you’re a high
school student wanting to get started early, a recent high
school graduate, or a first-time or returning adult student,
you’ll find your place at Eastern.
Wilburton CampusEastern’s main campus in Wilburton is located in the heart
of the beautiful valley between the San Bois and Winding
Stair Mountain Ranges. It is a traditional college campus
with student housing, athletic facilities, an indoor pool,
a full-service library and multiple classroom and student
services buildings. Located just five miles from campus,
Robbers Cave State Park offers students the chance to
hike, swim, rappel, fish, camp, canoe, ride paddle boats
and play miniature golf.
McAlester CampusMany of the classes offered at Eastern’s McAlester campus
are in the afternoon or evening so students can balance
family, work and school. The campus, which is conveniently
located off of U.S. Hwy 69, offers lower-division, upper-
division and graduate-level courses from Eastern, East
Central University and Southeastern Oklahoma State
University. The partnership allows students to begin
their collegiate experience with Eastern and complete a
bachelor’s or master’s degree in McAlester.

Idabel Teaching SiteEastern offers classes at Southeastern
Oklahoma State University’s McCurtain
County Campus in Idabel. Together, the
institutions offer associate and bachelor’s
degree programs to students throughout
southeast Oklahoma, southwest Arkansas
and northeast Texas. Eastern students can
complete 12 degree programs in Idabel (see
degree list on page 5).
Antlers Teaching SiteEastern offers a variety of day, evening and
distance learning classes at the Kiamichi
Technology Center in Antlers. The first
year of general education courses can
be completed, including developmental
classes.

science degree will satisfy all general education requirements for a
public, four-year college or university in Oklahoma. If you transfer
before completing your associate degree, you will receive general
education credit for courses that match those at the college or

Eastern’s student organizations range in focus from academics
to government and community service to athletics. You can also

Catch the action of every dunk, three-pointer, homerun or
strikeout. The Mountaineers and Lady Mountaineers compete in
the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference and the NJCAA in
women’s basketball, men’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s
soccer and women’s soccer. The 2014 men’s and women’s
soccer team are the first in Eastern’s history. Also new this year
is Eastern’s competitive co-ed cheerleading team.
With a full schedule of events, we want you to grab your blue
and gold gear, show your Eastern pride and get ready to cheer
on the Mountaineers and Lady Mountaineers!
Eastern’s student-athletes aren’t the only ones who want to stay
fit and healthy. Students can play intramural sports, swim in the

and sleep. At Eastern, there’s a strong feeling of community.
And living on campus gives you the greatest opportunities

Campus DiningEastern’s dining options are located on the first floor of the
Student Center, a popular destination to enjoy a great meal,
relax, study or spend time with friends. The Coal Mine
serves a broad selection of meals that appeal to every taste,
while the Cyber Café offers made-to-order items such as
hot and cold sandwiches, wraps, burgers, burritos, steak
melts and salads.

Housing OptionsThere are several student housing options in Wilburton,
including two residence halls, suite-style apartments and
adult student housing.
Miller Hall and Johnston Hall are traditional, multi-floor
residence halls with phone and cable hookups and free
Wi-Fi access. Each hall has a game room with pool tables,
comfortable seating, large-screen televisions and a video
game system (either Xbox 360 or Wii). Adult Residence Hall
Coordinators live on site. They plan several activities and
events to you get involved on campus.
Regents Court, Eastern’s recently constructed two-story
apartment buildings, feature four private bedrooms, four
private bathrooms and a common living area and kitchenette
in each unit. The apartments are fully furnished, including a
couch and two chairs in the living area and a dining table,
chairs, refrigerator and sink in the kitchenette.
The adult student housing includes recently remodeled
one- and two-bedroom apartments with full-size kitchens
and living rooms. These units are not furnished.

personally. Academic and career counsel-
ing, tutoring and group study halls, financial
aid assistance and literacy workshops, cul-
tural events and transfer trips to tour four-
year colleges and universities are available.
Academic AdvisingWhether you know exactly what you want
to do or are still unsure, Eastern’s academic
counselors can help you create a class sched-
ule and degree plan that fits your needs and
career interests. Counselors can also provide
personal inventory tests to assess your skills,
interests and values for possible career op-
tions.
Testing CenterEastern’s Testing Center provides profession-
al testing services to prospective students,
including COMPASS placement testing, na-
tional ACT and residual ACT (for Eastern ad-
mission only) tests and CLEP tests. To learn

FacultyEastern’s professors are passionate about what they teach, as
well as who they teach. They want to see you reach your goals
as much as you do. Plus, there’s no getting lost in the crowds.
Eastern’s class sizes are small, averaging about 22 students per
class. That means you’ll get individual attention in a supportive
environment.
LibraryIn many ways, Eastern’s Library is the infor-
mation hub on campus. The Library’s collec-
tion includes more than 38,000 books in the
stacks, more than 200 magazine and news-
paper subscriptions and thousands of addi-
tional resources available through electronic
databases. You’ll find everything you need to
complete your research, write your papers or
prepare your presentations.
Campus LabsComputer labs are available on campus for
students who do not have their own personal
computer. The computer lab in the Library
is open to all students and features several
workstations and printers. Also, there are
many academic programs, such as nursing
and mass communications, that have their
own computer labs for student use.

An Investment In Your Future
Filling out the FAFSAThe Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) is available at www.fafsa.gov.
You will need your family’s tax information to
complete the application. Eastern’s financial
aid code is 003155. Applications are available
January 1 for the upcoming year and should
be submitted, along with the enclosed
scholarship application, by February 21.
A college degree is an investment in your future. And together,
we’ll make it happen. Eastern is committed to offering you
an affordable educational experience and providing financial
assistance to qualified students with a combination of low
tuition, scholarships, financial aid, grants, loans and student
employment.
Tuition & FeesTuition and fees are significantly less at Eastern than
most other four-year colleges and universities. You’ll save
thousands of dollars by starting at Eastern and completing
an associate degree or your general education requirements
and then transferring to a four-year college or university.
Or there are many rewarding jobs and careers that can be
attained with an associate degree.
Financial AidThere are many different types of financial aid available. Grants
are need-based aid from the federal government and do not
require repayment as long as you complete the semester.
Loans, either federal or private, must be repaid. Federal work
study enables qualified students to work around their class
schedule and earn funds that are used toward their education.

Eastern ScholarshipsScholarship funds are provided by Eastern or an
outside contributor based on specific criteria. These
funds do not have to be repaid. There are hundreds
of scholarships available. Fill out the enclosed
scholarship application early and submit it by February
21 for consideration.
There are three main scholarships available to
students who have achieved academic excellence
in high school or at Eastern. The Regents Academic
Scholars, Presidential Leadership and Eastern
Opportunity Scholarships provide full or partial
tuition and housing waivers. Eastern’s Departmental
Scholarships focus on different academic divisions,
athletics and specific interests.
Generous private donors, businesses and organizations
are also supporting almost 100 Foundation Scholarships
at Eastern. Many of the scholarships have been
established in honor or memory of individuals. Others
have been established for athletes, specific academic
or career disciplines or students from specific high
schools or counties in the area.
