How does the GSM Gateway work
How does the GSM Gateway work
GSM Gateway is a device for direct routing of GSM calls
through its GSM modules into GSM network. Otherwise,
routing of these calls through PSTN network to the GSM
network would be much more costly.
While using GSM gateway, there is no interconnect fee
besides bills from SIM cards, which are used in GSM
Gateway.
The calls may originate in company’s PBX, in alternative
carriers networks etc. E1 or VoIP connection to 2N StarGate
is supported.

Outgoing calls 8 independent outgoing GSM groups CLIP/CLIR features possibility for limitation of minutes Rotating of SIMs by time/random/limit
Incoming calls 4 independent incoming GSM groups possibility to REJECT/IGNORE incoming calls present with DISA message/dialling tone passing to switch/VoIP gateway
Outgoing calls settings
1. Assign GSM Modules to GSM groups
• Every single GSM Module may be assigned to one outgoing group and one incoming group. Incoming and outgoing groups are two different sets of groups.
2. Configure every GSM Group separately
• Every set of GSM Modules (creating GSM Group) is configured separately. Configuration include CLIP/CLIR options, times of usage, minutes limit etc.
3. Create network lists (one for each GSM network)
• Every Network list contains list of prefixes, which will be routed together with the same rules. Usually a Network list corresponds with all prefixes for one GSM Network.
4. Define LCR
• LCR (Least Cost Routing) algorithm assigns GSM Groups to Network lists together with time dependency. In other words it says, through which GSM Modules will be calls routed (according to its prefix).
CDR (Call Data Records)
• 2N StarGate automatically saves information about every call into its
memory (even unsuccessful calls if needed). With latest CPU board you
have space for up to 245 thousand lines. In CDR you will find data about
every call, which has been connected through 2N StarGate
Statistics
• 2N StarGate automatically generates detailed statistics data on all
incoming and outgoing calls.. In Statistics you will find data about number
of minutes routed through every GSM module, GSM Group
Data records about traffic
• 1. column: **• 2. column: date/time of start of the call• 3. column: type of call• -I-FD : Unconnected attempt of incoming call
(It will be implemented at higher version of the firmware)
• -I-OK : Successfully connected incoming call (It will be implemented at higher version of the firmware)
• -O-FD : Unconnected attempt of outgoing call• -O-OK : Successfully connected outgoing call• 4. column: CAUSE sent to ISDN
5. column: number of used B-channel/number of used GSM module
6. column: used GSM group
7. column: time of establishing call
8. column: duration of call mmm:ss (max. 255:59) or error cause for unconnected calls
8. column: costs of the call (will be implemented in higher version of firmware)
9. column: called number
10. column: caller number
11. column: number of slot/IMSI* of used SIM card
Example of one line in CDR file
*with GSM modules GM22(47) IMSI is presented, with TC35 GSM modules serial number of SIM card is presented
