EnergyEnergy
• No more coal burning power plants.– Replace coal burning power plants with
Nuclear Power Plants• Need public outreach to alleviate fears• Need more research on safety and power plant
waste disposal
EnergyEnergy
• Mandate that 25 percent of all energy used in the US be generated by renewable fuels. Including…

WaterWater
• No more potable water can be used for landscaping and irrigation.
• Mandate new construction to include recycled water from sink, shower and clothes washer drains for on sight landscaping and toilet flushing.
WaterWater
• Promote greenspace in major metropolitan areas– Would cut down on noise pollution– Provides shade and cuts down on latent heat
at night– Would be watered by reclaimed water.– Local produce would be grown, harvested,
and distributed to local farmers markets.
WasteWaste
• Raise fees for all trash that goes to landfill

WasteWaste
• Develop cleaner ways to turn trash to energy to reduce waste that is buried in landfills

WasteWaste
• Reward community recycling efforts with lower utility bills when a community can recycle 80% or more of their waste
WasteWaste
• Promote and encourage residents to compost waste– The composted waste can be used in
personal or community gardens
TransportationTransportation
• Currently transportation accounts for nearly 45% of household greenhouse gas emissions per year
TransportationTransportation
• By 2032 all new automobile production must include use of hybrid technology and miles per gallon must strive to be near 50 miles per gallon.
TransportationTransportation
• Move forward with High Speed Rail to connect nearby Cities.
• Need to use renewable energy source to provide electricity to power the train.
• Would cut down on travelers who drive their own automobiles or take the short plane flight.
EconomyEconomy
• Highly educated people would need to design and build power plants, develop new emission technology, and design the transportation networks.– This assures the need for prefessors and
students at colleges and universities– Provides high paying, highly skilled jobs
EconomyEconomy
• Rail transportation would provide thousands of jobs for the construction and operation of the rail service.
SocietySociety
• The Millennial generation has grown up hearing about global warming, knowing there is a need to reduce greenhouse gases and knowing there is a need to reduce fossil fuel dependency.
• That knowledge needs to turn to action.
• The awareness needs to produce results that matter
SocietySociety
This presentation is only a small portion of what the US can do to drastically reduce its carbon footprint while maintaining appropriate energy for all. The US can be an example and model for the rest of the world.
Thank You!!!
