Friends of the TrailIf you’ve experienced the Saugeen RailTrail, you know what a treasure it is and ALL MADE POSSIBLE, THANKS TO THE ONGOING SUPPORT OF OUR TREASURED MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE TRAIL.
The Town of Saugeen Shores does grant us enough money for basic trail maintenance, but we depend on gifts to fund improvements... Such as the Mill Creek Bridge; the Port Elgin Train Station/washroom; Safer Crossing Entrance at Highway 21; Hurricane Hazel Viewing Platform; Gazebo; Southampton Train Station Rest Stop and History Centre; Port Elgin/Southampton Rotary Trail Head naming rights; the historic Southampton Train Mural; Perkins Park storage shed & Connector; Trees/Bluebird boxes/Butterfly gardens and Memorial Garden... for instance, would not have happened without direct public/partnership support.
WE ARE AN ORGANIZATION OF VOLUNTEERS AND ALL TAX RECEIVABLE FUNDS GO DIRECTLY TOWARDS PROVIDING SAFE, ECO-FRIENDLY, PUBLIC
ACCESS FOR GENERATIONS TO COME.
THANK YOU for ‘JOINING UP’ AS A MEMBER AND OF COURSE ANY ADDITIONAL GIFTS
ARE VERY WELCOME FOR OUR ONGOING PROJECTS!!! (see handy enclosed form)
We also maintain the Memorial Gardens in Southampton, as part of the Rail Trail. Various types of Memorials are possible.
