CHECK:Trimthebottomofbag(iftherehasbeenanyshiftinthefabric)socutedgesareeven.Stitchacrossandthroughall4layersat1/8”seamallowance.Makesureyouarecatchingall4layers.Nowturnthebagwrongsideoutandstitchagainacrossthebottomofbagwitha¼”seamallowance.(useatightstitchlength)The1/8”seamallowancewillbesandwichedbetweenlayers.ThisiscalledaFrenchseam.Allrawedgeswillbeenclosednow.DRAWSTRINGCASING:Turnbagrightsideoutandpress.Stitchallaroundbagthroughbothlayersoffabric1½”fromtopandthenagain2¼”fromtop.Thiswillcreatetheslot/casingforthedrawstringcords.DRAWSTRINGCORD;Cut:1.3metersofpreferredcolorofcord.Cutthecordin1/2tohave2piecesmeasuring~24”.UsingabigeyedneedlethreadonepieceofcordthroughtheRIGHTslot(openingonseamallowance)allthewayaroundandbackoutthe“same”RIGHTslot.Meltthecordendswithaflame(match)tosecurecordfromunraveling.Nowtiethetwoendsinabigknotsoknotisattheveryend.DothesameasabovefortheLEFTslot.Your Bead bag is now complete to gift to a child in the Beads of Courage Program.
