ABAÚJ IN ABAÚJ DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP
was formed• 21 December 2007• The night of opening the Schengen-border
between Hungary and Slovakia.• Members: 9 Hungarian municipalities, 7
municipalities in the Felvidék (Slovakia) and VITEA Fund
• We own 2 fortresses, several castles, a lot of country houses and plenty of ideas.
ABAÚJ IN ABAÚJ EGTC was formed 2008
• Headquarters: Miskolc, Hungary.• 2009: The Ministry in Pozsony (Bratislava) rejects
the admission of the Settlements in Slovakia.• 2010: The Ministry in Pozsony (Bratislava)
approves the admission of the Settlements in Slovakia.
• 11 June 2010: the EGTC is officially registered.• It is 3rd in Hungary and the 11th such
organization in the EU and the first public organization which involves favourable taxing conditions.

• August 2008 The first introduction of the Partnership in the
course of a Citizenship Union programme in Boldogkőváralja in the ABAÚJ Region. A record-breaking number of town-twinnings are signed.
• 01 12 2008 – 11 30 2010 „The one thousand-year-old relationship”
A two-year network-building programme of 15 events is launched involving 5 countries (Hungary, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia).

• June 10-13 2010 Fony – Kézdiszentlélek (Transylvania) a 4-day
citizens meeting supported by the Citizenship programme of the Union.

„Borderless tourism in ABAÚJ” • 01 12 2009 – 28 02 2011 The execution of the cross border cooperation
programme of €1,4 million between Hungary and Slovakia in the framework of ETE I, which is the most significant tourism-development programme in the region.
It was unique that the programme was executed with largest supported partner including 10 and further 6 partners supported directly and indirectly respectively.

Korlát: covered stone-stage with community area, the ceremonial erection of the bust of prince Ferenc Rákóczi II.

• Boldogkőváralja: mobile stage, 2 country-road pleasure-trains for tourists.
• Common: 16 Partnership Boards erected in the settlements.
• Common: 24 brown Tourist-Boards by the roads with heavy traffic to leading tourist attractions in Slovakia and Hungary (Boldogkőváralja, Regéc, Hejce, Korlát, Debrőd, Nagyida, Felsőlánc, Reste, Perény).

ETE II
„Key to success”„Everything is difficult for one,
Nothing is impossible for many”
• 01 12 2010 – 30 11 2011 The support granted in the framework of ETE II
Hungarian-Slovakian cross-border cooperation was about €1,8 million to help KKV-s. 85% ERFA, 10% joint financing, 5% self-financing.
Achievements: - Establishment of an academic training centre in
Miskolc, the county town of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County.
- Establishment of a technical training centre of tourism in Hejce, the construction of a parking lot and promenade.
• Perény, Slovakia (Felvidék): Massive meeting facilities for entrepreneurs and information office.
• With the help of the staff of the Union for Common Objectives (SZAKC) - Slovakia (Felvidék): local entrepreneurs are to be contacted to create a databank.
• ROVÁS association – Kassa, Slovakia (Felvidék): The association founded by visual artists helps the creative development of sense of beauty. The training is videoed to rely on in the further course of training.

• In the two training centres the entrepreneurs belonging to the target group take part in a 4x4 turn training.
• DVD is made about the training . • Gathering entrepreneurs in clubs.• Collecting achievements of the training.• Leaflets.• Organization of 3 conferences.
