• 0:00 – 0:18: Piano intro• 0:18: Adele begins singing while the piano continues playing in the background.• 0:52: Chorus begins. The piano begins to pick up tempo and gradually

becomes louder.• 1:25: Piano becomes softer.• 2:11: Chorus is sung again. The piano picks up again and becomes louder.

Adele uses a lot of power in her voice at this point.• 2:27: Adele begins to freestyle (oohs) while the piano continues playing in the

background. She then begins to sing the “doooo da de da dat dat dat” part.• 2:42: Adele begins the “do en do en do en do” part.• 2:50: Adele starts singing longer notes.• 2:57: Adele repeats the lyrics “Are the wonders of my world”.• 3:13: The piano and Adele’s voice gradually starts to slow down.• 3:30: The piano stops as Adele sings her last note.

• 0:00: Acoustic guitar begins playing.• 0:05: Adele begins singing as the guitar continues.• 0:23: The bass drum beats join in.• 0:59: The chorus begins. Adele’s voice is very powerful at this point.

Background singer joins in. The piano starts to play.• 1:20: Only the guitar and drums continue playing in the background while

Adele sings.• 1:36: The background singer joins in again singing the same lyrics as

before.• 1:50: The music gradually builds up as the chorus begins again.• 1:55: The chorus repeats. Once again Adele’s voice is very strong and

powerful. The background singer continues.• 2:31: The background singer stops. The bass drum beat begins again as

Adele continues singing. Now hand clapping is added and follows along with the off beat of the bass drum.

• 2:35: The background “whoas” begin.• 2:49: The bass drum stops and the background singer starts again. Adele

takes a pause.• 2:53: Adele begins singing again. The background singer continues.• 3:01: Hand clapping begins again.• 3:05: The drums and Adele’s voice quickly ascend upward.• 3:09: The climax of the song is at this point. Adele builds up to a point

where she starts belting out her note. The background singers continue along with the bass drum and hand clapping.

• 3:41: Adele repeats the lyrics – “But you played it, you played it, you played it to the beat.”

• 3:45: Drums, clapping, guitar stop playing as Adele sings her last note.

The piano starts to play faster.• 1:13: The piano now slows down.• 1:14: Chorus begins. The piano picks up again.• 1:30: Chorus continues. Adele’s voice becomes higher.• 1:52: Chorus ends. The next verse begins and Adele’s voice is deep and sad. The piano

continues to play in the background.• 2:33: The piano slows down along with Adele’s voice. She prepares to sing the chorus again.• 2:34-2:37:Adele pauses while the piano continues.• 2:38: Adele begins singing the chorus again.• 2:50: Adele’s voice becomes louder and higher.• 2:57: Adele lowers her voice now.• 3:07: Chorus ends. Adele begins singing the last verse. A background voice joins in.• 3:22: Adele pauses as she gets ready to sing the chorus a final time. The piano slows down.• 3:24: The chorus begins again. The piano continues playing slowly.• 3:38: Adele’s voice gets higher again.• 3:53: Adele repeats chorus in a bolder and stronger voice. The piano picks up.• 4:19: Adele builds up to the finale of the song.• 4:28: The piano slows down as Adele carries out her last note.• 4:28-4:40:The piano continues by itself until the end.
