Expanded program on Immunization (EPI) History; Jordan
-Established in June 1979 - Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Polio, TB)
- 1st Measles, and Tetanus Toxoid for women in child bearing age – 1982
- 4th dose of polio 1993 ( with measles at 9 months)
- Hepatitis “B” and second dose Measles ( 18 months)– 1995
- MMR replaced Measles vaccine as a second dose in 2000

- Hib started in July 2001 - IPV (inactivated polio) replaced OPV1 in 2005
and the 2nd dose IPV at July 2006. - MMR first dose for children at age of 12
months in 2008 - 2015 Rota virus vaccine

Campaigns & follow up activities in schools
Catch up campaign: - - 1997 using measles vaccine for school children (6-
15 years)- 1999 using measles vaccine for pre school children
(4-6 years)- 2013 using measles , rubella ( MR) vaccine from 6
months to 20 years .

Follow up activities- Rubella vaccine was given for 11th and 12th class school girls ( birth cohort 1987-1988), -MMR vaccine was given to school children in 3 phases :
- 1st phase in 1st half of 2005 (2nd and 10th class )- 2nd phase in 2005-2006 (4th,5th,6th and 10th class)- 3rd phase in 2007-2008 ( 8th,9th,&10th class)
TT vaccination ( Pregnant not vaccinated before)

adults . shortage of funds for research about the burden of
