EETP Evolution: The present environment
Its a dynamic world where the nature of technology and industry changes rapidly with new innovations and requirements.
It’s a linked ,complex world where economies, demographics, markets, culture, thoughts, innovations, entrepreneurship etc are inter-dependent.
It’s a market-driven world where basis is global Demand-Supply.
It’s a Fittest-survive competitive world.
Production, Productivity, Innovation etc. on the platform of evolving Technologies, are the driving forces.
EETP Evolution:Present ‘Employment’ scenario
A ‘Demanding’ industry puts crucial pressure points on Learning eco-system.
Education & Skilling system to be responsive and adaptive to the demand of the industries.
Factors like legacy, culture, infrastructure, inertia, costs etc. often create barriers and sub-optimal systems .
A gap is most likely to be present between academics and industry needs
Industries often do not find right manpower , affecting adversely the employment scenario.
The national employability report compiled by Aspiring Minds revealed that only 17.45 percent of technical graduates in the country are ready to be employed.
EETP Evolution: Requisite for Engineers
The 21st-century engineer must have the capacity to:
Understand the Physical constructs and Contextual base of the economic, industrial, social, political, and international dimensions within which engineering is practiced;
Design, in order to meet safety, reliability, environmental, cost, operational and maintenance objectives;
Realize, products;
Create, operate, and sustain complex systems;
Participate in the process of research; and
Gain the intellectual skills needed for lifelong learning.
EETP Evolution: Telecommunications
AICTE as the national body for technical education sought to implement programs to impart technical skills and improve employability.
DoT in its NTP-2012 has envisaged its active role in country-wide capacity building and skill development in telecom.
BSNL having country-wide high-end telecom equipment & resources for a proactive initiative on this count, has agreed for its support & contribution.
To reduce the gap between academics and industry needs in telecom, AICTE and BSNL have joined their hands and signed MoU on 27th Feb 2013 under Employability Enhancement Training Program (EETP) in the presence of Hon’ble Minister HRD, Dr. M. M. Pallam Raju & MoS HRD Sh. Jitin Prasad.
EETP: Vision
Vision of EETP is to act as catalyst for Indian telecom
industry, to make them world player, through the
right match of technical manpower by stimulating
further ideas and taking forward initiatives in
extending infrastructure, expertise & services of
BSNL, which is normally not available at technical
institutions.
EETP: Mission
To help produce engineering graduates adequately
equipped with required skills to achieve the highest
personal and professional standards by means of
intensive hands-on training on state-of-the-art telecom
& IT equipment to enable the Indian technical
expertise globally acceptable.
A Unique industry oriented academic initiative.

Student feedbacks
BSNL is ready to implement the program in other major cities of India. The program can be started in 50 cities immediately and at around 300 location in near future.
The current web portal will be upgraded to host CVs of EETP students and hence can also work as a Job portal for students and employers.
At present, current final year students are not included in the program, suitable program can be started for them also.
Similar type of programs can be adapted for Diploma and Post Graduate students also.
Faculty Development Program for the faculties of Engineering colleges may also be started.
