•THEMATIC ESSAYS ARE ESSAYS THAT ARE PART OF THE NEW YORK STATE ASSESSMENT IN GLOBAL HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY. IN GENERAL, THEY ARE ESSAYS THAT OFTEN REQURE THE STUDENT OF GLOBAL HISTORY TO WRITE ABOUT A CERTAIN TOPIC OR THEME THAT CUTS ACROSS TIME AND CULTURE.

A belief system is an established, orderly way that groups or individuals look atreligious faith or philosophical principles. These systems have often affectedpolitics, society, and the economy in the nations or regions in which they arepracticed.
Task:
Select two belief systems from your study of global history and for each• Explain one major idea of the belief system• Discuss the effects the belief system has had on the politics, society, and/or
the economy of a specific nation or region
You may use any belief systems from your study of global history. Some suggestions youmight wish to consider include Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Daoism, Hinduism,Islam, and Judaism.
You are not limited to these suggestions.
Do not use the United States as the specific nation or region in your response.

How is a history essay different than other essays I may have written?
• Based on historical evidence and knowledge, not the writer(that’s you) personal opinion.
• Is conscience of time and space in which events happened. ( ex: fire was not discovered in the Neolithic age nor was it the Neolithic Revolution)
• Evidence presented backs up thesis argument. (ex: if paper is about Neolithic Revolution there should not be information about World War I)
