The committee on labour welfare(CLW),formed in 1969 to review the labour
welfare scheme, described it as social security measures that contributed to improve
the conditions under which worers are employed in !ndia"
!n a resolution in 19#$, The !L% defined labour welfare as &such services,
facilities and amenities as ade'uate canteens, rest and recreation facilities,
arranements for travel to and from wor and for the accommodation of worers
employed at a distance from their houses, and such other services, amenities and
facilities as contributed to improve the conditions under which worers are
employed"
Labor welfare is an important facet of industrial relations, the etra
dimension, ivin satisfaction to the worers in a way which even a ood wae

Welfare includes anythin that is done for the comfort and improvement of
employees and is provided over and above the waes" Welfare helps in eepin the
