Aim
To design the Android mobile controlled wheeled Robot using Wi-Fi and obtain
smooth speed and gesture control using accelerometer
• Android is a software cluster for mobile devices that includes an operating system OS and key applications.
• The Android SDK provides the tools and APIs required to begin developing applications on the Android platform using the Java programming language.
• Android is based on Linux and further furnished by Google.

Uses of Wi-Fi
Why Wi-Fi
• Have range up-to 100 metres• Allows security like:-•
WEP128/WPA-PSK/TKIP/WPA-PSK/CCMP/WPA2-PSK/TKIP/WPA2-PSK/CCMP
• Provides higher data transmission rate ( approx. 54 Mbps)
• Unique I/P addressing. (Static I/P)
Mode used for Transmission
Interfacing with MCU
Working of Robot
• Works From Android App.• Uses serial transmission.• Gives sharp speed controlling• Based on accelerometer.
Advantages
• Have higher range of communication • User friendly GUI.• Open source software.• Can be modified easily.
Disadvantages
• Requires continuous and long onboard battery supply.
Applications and Future Scope
• Can be used as surveillance robot • For Home Automation• for control wheel-chair for handicapped.• For long distance controlling of devices• For covering highly dangerous area.
etc.
Costing
• Approx. Rs. 4000• Consist of Wi-Fi module, Controller kit, Robot
chassis and PSU.
