What Doth A Demon Do? Distortion
They give a distorted view of reality regarding God and ourselves
What Doth A Demon Do? Genesis 3:1-13
“crafty” or “tricky”
His deception works in two ways
What Doth A Demon Do? He distorts the person of God to humans
He seeks to undermine people’s trust in the nature and motives of God
Jesus gave us the word to overcome that misperception: FATHER
What Doth A Demon Do? Temptation
General pattern is like we see with Eve
People are responsible for their actions:– The serpent deceived: I ate
What Doth A Demon Do? Temptation is broader and deeper than we
often consider
Satan has organized the world and the powers against God
What Doth A Demon Do? 1 John 5:19; John 14:30
We have a whole system that plays to human weakness
1 John 2:15-17
What Doth A Demon Do? Accusation
Revelation 12:10
Satan is regularly accusing us before God
The Mighty Fortress Jesus came to destroy satan’s works
(1 John 3:8)
The Spirit is actively drawing and revealing truth so people can come out of darkness
The Mighty Fortress God has given us power to overcome
temptation and to wage war with the devil
We stand free from accusation
We have the power of God to cause demons to flee
