University Guidance
Last Friday we were delighted to host the visit of Yonsei University. Ms Jee‐Eun Park and Mr Jong Won
Hwang delivered a detailed presenta on about the applica on process and entry requirements for the
university degree programmes. The community support was fantas c and I es mated approximately
150 people supported this event.
I was able to meet with Ms Park and Mr Hwang before and a er the presenta on and we discussed in
detail the applica on procedures, candidate profiles and number of applicants admi ed in the 2014‐15
cycle. A startling 68 applicants were admi ed from the 3 – Year applicant pool. Whilst amazed at this
level of selec vity I was also extremely proud of our two students who were admi ed last year. It
certainly gives us a clearer indica on of the calibre of student Yonsei seeks to admit.
We will be hos ng the Korean University Informa on Evening on Tuesday 14th April sta ng at 6.00 pm
in the Study Room. An invita on has been sent to all students and families from Years 10‐13. Whilst the
focus will be on helping students in Year 13 to be er understand the applica on process and the
support we provide we hope the wider community will also be interested in the informa on we will be
sharing.
Do please email me at [email protected] to let us know if you plan to a end the event.

universi es have wri en to express their enthusiasm for our school and students.
Aidan Crowley College & University Guidance Counsellor
Dear Aidan, Just a brief note of thanks for your hospitality and welcome; I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the School. I was particularly taken by the enthusiasm and interest of your students in studying at the University of Manchester, and in the UK more generally. It was a delight to meet such polite and engaging young people, to learn more about their education and career aspirations and to share how we can support them in achieving their best performance in their professional and personal lives. Please convey my thanks to your students for attending the fair - I really enjoyed meeting them.
Dr Sophie Hargreaves, University of Manchester
Dear Aidan, We really enjoyed visiting BIS Ho Chi Minh City and meeting students and some parents there to talk about their future plans. The students seemed very happy with education they are receiving at BIS and they are clearly achieving good results. I also met one student whose brother is currently studying at Essex and apparently having a great time, which is always excellent for us to hear.
