Summary of Activity
The Asian Pencak Silat Federation (APSIF) sent a team of four to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to conduct a 2-day course for referee and jury, coaches and competition secretariat team. The President of Cambodian Pencak Silat Federation, Mr. UK Heisela, assisted by Mr. Tika Ram Motey, President of Nepal Pencak Silat Martial Arts Association, have been conducting training sessions before our arrival. Mr. UK Heisela have been working very closely with the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), and manage to get a training venue at the NOCC itself. All of the sessions were conducted at the NOCC. The practical session were conducted at the ground level. Mattresses were placed as per required (10m by 10m). The theory session were conduction in the conference room. Projectors, speakers and microphone were provided. Apart from just attending the courses, the students have to take a test (theory and practical) in order to receive the certificate of achievement. For the referee and jury test (practical and theory), the students were tested on the roles of a referee and jury. For the coaching theory test, the questions tested were based on the rules of Pencak Silat. For the practical test, the students were tested on the following varieties: Warming Up, Stretching, Punches, Kicks, Sweeping, Scissors and Dropping Techniques. The test result are as follow:
