Trainee Horticultural Technicians
Salary: 15,054 pa

Each year vacancies under the Trainee Technician scheme are available for people wishing to pursue a career in horticulture by gaining practical experience. Based within the 40-acre Botanic Garden, the trainees are able to learn and perform the wide range of horticultural skills that are required to maintain a diverse collection of over 8,000 plants, which is of international importance. The scheme is demanding and is intended for those wishing to gain experience in practical horticulture, collection management and plantsmanship.

Part time Medical Administrator We are now looking to recruit a Medical Administrator to join the
Medical Centre team at Woburn Forest, our new village which is due to open in spring
2014. This role will commence in March 2014.
Reporting to the Sister, you will provide all aspects of administrative support to the
Medical Centre team. You will be required to co-ordinate all admin for the department
across a diverse range of areas including organising meetings, diary management, greeting
guests and employees who visit the Medical Centre. You will deal with emergency phone
calls and co-ordinate the Company Doctor’s weekly clinic.
You will also be required to provide First Aid assistance as required, including in the
absence of the Nurse.

Leighton Buzzard-based garden maintenance company, CLM Gardens,
is looking for someone who is taking a horticulture qualification
(ideally at level 2 or 3) and wants to supplement it with one or two
days’ work per week.
You would work in both gardens and on commercial sites and, use a
range of hand and petrol tools – experience using strimmers and hedge-
cutters would be an advantage.

The Special Constabulary plays an important
role in providing additional officers at local events, such as
peak times on Friday and Saturday nights. People join the
Special Constabulary for many different reasons, many wanting
to give something back to the community.
Special Constables are expected to carry out the same duties
as their regular Police colleagues. They are issued with the
same uniform and equipment and are given full Police training.
You are required to volunteer for a minimum of 16 hours
per month. The initial training is carried out on Tuesday
evenings at Police HQ with three weekend training sessions.
