BEGINNER’S CORNER - ALL DAY AND ALL OF THE NIGHT BY THE KINKS
Last week we looked at some grungy rock in beginner’s cor-ner. This week we’re going to look at a bass line by a band that IMHO don’t get the criticial recognition they deserve for the incluence they had on rock mu-sic.
That band is of course The Kinks.
The song we’re going to look at is called ALL DAY AND ALL OF THE NIGHT. It’s a pretty basic track - with an 8th note pulse. And there’s nothing particularly hard about it - so it’s perfect for beginners.
Here’s how the tune lays out:
Section A: Intro 0.00Section B: Verse 0.08Section C: Middle 8 - 0.21Section D: Chorus 0.28Section E - Verse 2 - 0.41Section F - Middle 8 - 0.56Section G - Chorus 2 - 1.02Section H - Guitar Solo - 1.23Section I - Verse 3 - 1.38Section J - Middle 8 - 1.53Section K - Chorus 3/Outro - 2.01
I’ve presented the music in both notation and notation with tab. As al-ways, the tabbed positions are where I find it most logical to play. Feel free to change it around if you wish too.
