Kurikulum 1994 yang diberlakukan saat ini menuntut disediakannya buku-bukupelajaran, baik buku teks utama maupun buku teks pelengkap yang sesuai.
Buku ini kamisusun berdasarkan Kurikulum Muatan Lokal Pendidikan Dasar, Garis-garis Besar Program Pengajaran (GBPP) 1994 Sekolah Dasar, Mata pelajaran Bahasalnggris. Buku ini diadakan untuk memotivasi dan mendorong siswa agar lebih siap danpercaya diridalam mempelajari bahasa lnggris ditingkat selaniutnya serta mendapatkanketerampilan berbahasa yang sederhana sesuai dengan topik yang dekat dengan siswa.Latihan dan permainan diberikan agar siswa mudah memahami dan lebih bergairahdalam mempelajari bahasa lnggris. Pada bagian akhir disajikan "pronunciation" yangdisusun secara alfabetis agar siswa terbantu dalam melafalkan kata-kata bahasa lnggris.
Buku inijuga praktis bagi para guru karena sesuai dengan hakikat Kurikulum f-gg+yang memberi peluang bagi para guru untuk mengembangkan sendiri Garis Besar pro-gram Pengajaran sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi setempat.
