TB Testing in MI 64 private practitioner veterinarians
in the state of Michigan have been trained and are willing to conduct TB tests in cervids.
State or Federal Veterinarians conduct the follow up testing on suspect animals.

TB Accredited Herds
To achieve TB accreditation:2 whole herd tests (all animals over
12 months of age) within 9-15 months.
Then whole herd tests are required every 36 months.
Movement Testing Requirements
Interstate movement: Accredited status makes movement
easier.Intrastate movement:
Variety of TB testing rules apply for movement.

Since January 2007, there have been 9,219 heads/samples checked for TB.
Of the 9,219 heads/samples checked for TB, 3,182 were checked since January 2010.
TB positive Cervid Facilities in Michigan
There are currently two TB positive cervid
facilities in the state of Michigan. Both facilities are located in Montmorency County.
These facilities were designated as TB positive in December 2008, and February 2009.
