It has always been a dream of mine to direct a play that in-
cluded a dinosaur, a wooly mammoth, the invention of the
wheel, and a fourth wall broken beyond repair. Of all of the
plays that fit this description, it’s hard to argue that any
could surpass Thornton Wilder’s The Skin of Our Teeth.
Winner of the 1943 Pulitzer Prize for drama, this play is
remarkable for laughing in the face of theatrical convention
and itself. Wilder’s willingness to play with the absurd and
let his own characters mock him sets up a powerful allegory
that catches the audience (and sometimes the actors and di-
rectors) completely by surprise.
Thank you for joining The Village Playhouse as we explore
the wit and wisdom, the allegory and absurdity of Thornton
Wilder. As George Antrobus would likely say, the watch-
word for this play is enjoy yourselves.
Now on with the show!

As always, never-ending love to all. Please sit back and enjoy
the show!
Joyce Sponcia (Mrs. Maggie Antrobus) is thrilled to perform
with Village Playhouse for the first time. She has previously
been seen in area theatres in Rabbit Hole, A Murder is An-
nounced, Inherit the Wind, and Dearly Departed. She would like
to thank this cast, crew, and especially David Kaye for such a hi-
larious journey through the ages. Thanks and love to her husband,
Jack, the best line coach ever!
Scott Stenstrup (Miss M Muse/Fortune Teller) is excited to be
in his second show with the Village Playhouse. Some of Scott's
favorite roles include Orin Scrivello in Little Shop of Horrors
(West Tap), Duncan Wooley in Leading Ladies (Patio Players),
and Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol (Lake Country and
West Bend). Thanks to the tremendous cast and crew for all
their love and support. Scott would normally thank his family
and friends at this point for their unwavering support; unfortu-
nately, he has been so involved in community theatre he forgot
who they are. He thanks you, the audience, for without you and
your support, he (and countless others) could not do this thing
we love.
Jordyn Stewart (Gladys Antrobus) has recently been seen per-
forming in Waukesha Civic Theatre’s Almost, Maine, Old
World Wisconsin’s An Old World Christmas and Legends and
Lore, and in SummerStage’s Picnic. She would like to thank
David Kaye for this opportunity and her family and friends for
their everlasting support.
Robert A. Zimmerman (Mr. George Antrobus) returns to the
Village Playhouse for his second “George” after playing George
Hay in Moon Over Buffalo. His theatre experience includes writ-
ing, directing, set design and performing. Favorite roles include
Max Bialystock, Tevye, Scrooge, Oberon, Fagin, Sherlock
Holmes and Harold Hill. Bob dedicates this performance to his
bladder-extended dog who endured so many late rehearsal nights.
Peter Kao (Telegraph Boy/Homer/Girls/Mr. Tremayne) has per-
formed with many theater companies throughout Milwaukee and
Madison. He recently played Old Joe in A Christmas Carol at
Sunset Playhouse. Other credits include Evelyn in Anything
Goes, Ching Ho and Bun Foo in two separate productions of
Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Tim in Noises Off.
David Kaye (Director) has worked in the Milwaukee theatre com-
munity for 15 years as director, actor, and musician. He currently
holds the Guinness Record for world’s tallest mattress stack and
he once had a beer with John Gurda. This should tell you all you
need to know about him.
Nikki Maritch (Costume Designer) is delighted to be working
with Village Playhouse again. She previously designed The 39
Steps and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Her work has been seen at
Quasimondo Physical Theatre, Green Bay Community Thea-
tre, Waukesha Civic, and Racine Theatre Guild. She is a
proud alumna of UWM’s PTTP. Love and thanks to her goof-
ball and parents.
Donna Mc Master (Dinosaur/Miss E Muse/Bingo Caller/
Hester) has been active in community theater for more than 30
years, mostly as an actor, director, and playwright. She per-
formed in the Village Playhouse’s 2014 Christmas Show. Fa-
vorite roles include Anne Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, Nora
in A Doll’s House, and the Cook in Madam’s Been Murdered,
Tea Will Be Late.
Paul Pfannenstiel (Announcer/Broadcast Official) is happy to be
back at Village Playhouse having recently been seen here in A
Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has also been in All in the Tim-
ing, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, as well as sev-
eral of the One Act Festivals. He has appeared with a number of
other theatre groups in the area.

crafts. We also provide an outlet for artists of all disciplines to
practice, display and perfect their craft.
However, over the years, the costs of productions have increased
substantially. That is why we need to ask for your help. Your

Nicole Allee (Stage Manager) has worked for a year in the Mil-
waukee area with various theatre companies. This is the 5th show
in a row she has worked with David Kaye and she is looking for-
ward to a break. She’d like to thank Rygel for his continues love
and support.
Jessie Barr (Ms. Fitzgerald) has been trying to be the center of
attention from the moment she was born. Her family became so
used to her, she had to go to the theater. She has worked on shows
with Stage Left, the It Gets Better Project, and Village Play-
house, including an award-winning role in Actor’s Nightmare.
She is so excited to be a part of The Skin of Our Teeth, playing
another stage manager. She would like to thank her friends and
family who always support her attention seeking ways.
Alexis Fielek (Sabina) has directed several productions in the
Milwaukee area, including the original play by local author Sa-
bley Sabin, everyone’s stories are true. She is thrilled to be on
stage this time, especially in such a delightfully weird and in-
sightful play, with this talented cast and crew. She gives her love
and thanks to the family and friends who have supported her in
taking this step.
Elizabeth Havican (Doctor/Conveeners/Ivy) is just happy to be
on stage again. Last seen in front of the curtain in the Village
Playhouse One Act Festival last June, Elizabeth has spent the last
several months stage managing and teaching herself lighting de-
sign. Elizabeth lives in West Allis with her husband, Patrick, and
their cats, Deadly and Windom Earle.
Nicholas Hightdudis (Wooly Mammoth/Moses/The Chair
Pusher/Mr. Bailey) is happy to once again be performing at In-
spiration Studios. He has performed in several shows with the
Village Playhouse, such as the One-Act Festival, and Number the
Stars with Milwaukee Youth Theater. He enjoys playing drums,
video games, and walking dogs for the Humane Society.
