Every Angle is the ultimate Operational Performance
Management solution that provides companies with
the tools for a quick, flexible and agile response to
changes and for optimizing their processes. With
Every Angle you can produce useful overviews in no
time, based on information from your own SAP ERP.
Fred Holvast, Logistics Manager at Heineken (HNS),
about his experiences with this solution “Every Angle
and the KPI Dashboard are excellent tools that give
the breweries’ management more control over the
performance of their supply chain”.
The world is changing rapidly, and your customers are
becoming more demanding. Every Angle is the ideal
solution that will give you the flexibility to respond to
changes and to the changing customer demands, by
presenting data quickly, clearly and comprehensively.
Managing KPIsWith the current growing need for information it is hardly
surprising that more and more companies choose SAP as
their ERP supplier. SAP is considered the best transaction
system in the world. SAP and Every Angle, used as an
Operational Performance Management system, offer an
ideal solution.
A quicker response to changes and a better control of processes. Business Analytics for SAP. Every Angle is the solution.
Proof of Every AngleWe like to leave it to our customers to explain that our solution offers added value. Take a look at the videos of our customers at www.everyangle.com

Every Angle knows that speed, ease-of-use and
a minimal burden on your employees are high on
your list of priorities when choosing a useful
software solution. Consequently, it is important
for you to know that our solution is operational in
just three days, that it takes only three minutes
to make an Angle and no more than three
seconds to get the answers you need.
Management will want to use straight forward, reliable
and flexible operational KPIs and users want to be able to
create their own operational reports as soon as needed.
Instead of Every Angle, other systems such as Excel and
Access are used for similar tasks. These are systems that
do not integrate with SAP or any of the operational
processes, which means it can take hours or even days
to create the regularly required operational reports and
overviews. The greatest risk here is when many different
versions of the truth are created, it is extremely unsafe
to make business decisions. Also, it is not always possible
to sort the data into certain combinations, which is
essential in order to obtain a correct insight into, for
example, the delivery reliability, stock positions or order
status (KPIs).
The solution: Every AngleThe Every Angle out-of-the-box solution, as a Business
Analytics System on SAP ERP, offers advantages that
may seem obviously simple. Because of the speed, user
friendliness and intuitive GUI of Every Angle, it is easy
for users to quickly identify the information they need.
Goal oriented KPIs can be created quickly and changed
if necessary, users can drill down directly from the KPIs
to the underlying detailed information so it immediately
becomes clear what to aim for.
Why Every Angle can do what other suppliers cannotEvery Angle is the only solution that is autonomously
capable of fully understanding SAP data and converting
it to business information that can be used immediately.
This is possible because all the ins and outs of the SAP
system are built into Every Angle, including the logic that is
incorporated in the ERP system. In addition to this in-depth
SAP knowledge, Every Angle is also richly embedded with
built-in knowledge of operational processes.
This combination is the greatest strength of the solution.
With this knowledge, Every Angle is capable of automatically
converting SAP data into useful information that is easy to
use and immediately available to business users, without
the need for them to understand the underlying SAP tables
and logic. This makes Every Angle a unique and powerful
system, allowing users to get started immediately.

The KPI Dashboard of Every Angle at Heineken
Netherlands (HNS) is used in addition to the Every Angle
standard Operational Performance Management add-on.
Every Angle was initially used to improve data quality and
reliability as well as quickly obtain difficult to access SAP
data. A very powerful additional gain to implementing
Every Angle was that it improved the sentiment and
attitude towards SAP in a very short time. Users suddenly
saw more clearly the benefit of the SAP system and the
way it helps Heineken to execute their daily processes
in an efficient way.
Management issuesEvery Angle became a powerful tool to help management
and staff members to answer questions regarding overall
stock levels in order to reduce working capital, measure
the conformance to the schedule of departures of vessels
from the Port of Rotterdam, and even determine the
carbon footprint of HNS.
S&OP and the Every Angle KPI Dashboard EngineHeineken is one of the first companies in the world using
the Every Angle Dashboard Engine within the area of Sales
& Operations Planning. The KPIs are presented on an easily
accessible (internal) website of HNS and consist of several
stock overviews, service levels, lead times in the supply
chain and measurements for forecast accuracy and bias.
Usually, the interpretation and analysis of this kind of data
ResultsThe results Heineken gained by implementing
Every Angle are very positive. The Return on
Investment (ROI) of the overall investment was
achieved in a relatively short period.
The most important results are:
Improved data reliability in master data and
transaction data;
Improved user acceptance and better use
of the SAP system;
Stronger grip on the overall performance
of the supply chain;
Lower stocks;
Better, faster management information;
Improved KPI measurement.
Fred Holvast
Logistics Director:
“Every Angle and the KPI Dashboard help management of the breweries
to get a better grip on the overall performance of the supply chain, which will ultimately help Heineken Netherlands to service its domestic and inter national customers better against lower cost.”
Dashboard engine provides Heineken
supply chain overviews
is a well known, notoriously difficult exercise, but by using
the new Every Angle ETL tool set, this topic is solved with
a minimum of effort. An overview of the most important
KPIs of Heineken Netherlands is presented as a balanced
score card.
In a historic overview, Heineken’s management can
quickly evaluate the progress on the KPIs, compare
the performance with pre-set targets, and slice & dice
the data using the powerful and intuitive drill down
functionality of the KPI Dashboard. The data for this S&OP
Dashboard is provided by the Every Angle Dashboard
Engine mainly from SAP, but also from sources in Oracle,
SQL and even Excel.

About Heineken and Heineken Netherlands Supply (HNS)Heineken is one of the world’s greatest brewers
and has a global network of distributors and
125 breweries in more than 70 countries.
The principal international brand is Heineken
but the Heineken Group brews and sells over
200 beers and ciders. Of the 125 million hectolitres
sold by Heineken in 2009, approximately 14 percent
was produced by Heineken Netherlands Supply
(HNS) in 3 breweries in the Netherlands.
In the 3 breweries, more than 900 SKUs are
produced on 30 packaging lines and sold to over
150 countries. The workforce of HNS consists
of approximately 1,300 employees. Heineken’s
Corporate Strategy is “to be a leading brewer in
each of the markets in which it operates and to
have the world’s most prominent brand portfolio
(with Heineken as leading premium beer)”.
The strategy of HNS - linked to the NV-strategy -
is “to remain the sustainable, preferred supplier
for our existing and future customers by providing
the right product with the right quality/volume at
the right time in the right place at the best price”.
Anton de Romijn
Strategic Supply Chain Analyst:
“The successful implementation of Every Angle has had many positive
effects. Staff members now have a more accurate and up to date view of the achieved performance of HNS, which has motivated them to realize good scores. I also expect that the increased under- standing of the relationship between the different KPIs will lead to a continuous optimization cycle.”
The logistic objectives of HNSThe logistic objectives that follow from this integrated
strategy can loosely be defined as:
1. Doing the right things (being effective):
Pre-set service and quality;
Being the best in class for new product introductions
(i.e. cost level and time to market).
2. Doing the right things right - the first time
(being efficient) by:
Being the best in class for productivity;
Ensuring sustained low (transfer) prices;
Reducing working capital.

Perfetti Van Melle, a manufacturer and distributor
of confectionery and chewing gum in more than
130 countries cannot imagine working without
Every Angle. The company sought answers to some
important issues, such as “which deliveries are
outstanding, will they be delivered on time and
if not, why not?” With Every Angle, management
is now able to produce clear answers to those
questions and more.
Since 1993 Perfetti Van Melle is using SAP. The decision
to use SAP for logistical and financial administration was
a convincing one. Since that decision, the ERP has been
rolled out in many countries. As a result, the company
currently works with ten productive SAP systems,
each for a specific region or operating company.
Implementation of Every Angle Every Angle is implemented with the aim to align
the operational business processes and to enable
SAP users to retrieve as much information as possible
from the SAP system. Perfetti Van Melle has been
using Every Angle since 2003 and is very satisfied.
It is primarily the SAP key users who benefit the most
from the business analytics solution provided by
Every Angle. At the end of 2007, the confectionery
manufacturer decided to convert the existing Benelux
contract to a company-wide global contract. This enables
the world wide use of Every Angle software. The first site
outside The Netherlands that employed this software was
Perfetti Van Melle USA.
Results Cleaner master data;
Quicker action on the basis of faster and more
transparent reports;
Quicker flagging-up of potential unsaleables,
such as products with a best-before-date and
packaging materials without dependent need;
Improved reporting on the status of sales
orders;
Improved insight into purchasing packages
and distribution across suppliers;
SAP users have gained more understanding of
their role in the business process;
Thanks to Every Angle, users have a better
understanding of the entire business process.
A quick overview of production orders,
open orders and stock level
Management issuesWith Every Angle Perfetti Van Melle Benelux,
management found answers to a number of pressing
issues. Those management issues were the following:
Which orders are open? Will they be delivered on time?
If not, why not?
What is the status of our stock? Do we have enough
or rather too much? If we have too much, how can we
stop it getting worse?
Is it possible to cancel purchase orders or
manufacturing orders?
Jan-Willem van der Meere
Regional IT Manager for the region
Northwest Europe and North America:
“For us, Every Angle is a powerful tool that provides us with a better insight into our processes and how those processes interrelate. Our users couldn’t imagine working without Every Angle anymore and from an IT perspective I can only say that Every Angle requires hardly any maintenance.”

“Unlike normal IT projects, in which change management is one of the
most important components, in the case of Every Angle the driving force behind it all came from the users. They were enthusiastic and wanted to start using it. So the change management effort in an Every Angle project is absolutely zero.”
Joe Thaninayagam, CIO, Coats
“Every Angle is a system that I introduced to our organization. All our users are immensely happy with it.”

Stork Food Systems, which has been acquired by
Marel, is a developer and manufacturer of industrial
systems and installations used in processing of
poultry and liquid foods. Thanks to Every Angle,
it successfully achieved a substantial increase in
supply reliability amongst its suppliers, within six
months. The improved reliability had a significant
impact on the plant’s production efficiency, which
has increased by 20 percent.
The delivery reliability of these suppliers needed to be
boosted as Stork Food Systems was in danger of having its
growth curtailed. For quite some years now, the Boxmeer
branch has been using the SAP ERP system for their goods
flow control. They intend to roll out this system to four
other branches, with support from the Every Angle system.
Implementation of Every AngleSince the summer of 2008, Stork Food Systems has used
Every Angle to address important issues. Since the
system’s implementation, Every Angle also ensures that
Stork has greater control of the delivery and scheduling
of components for assembly. Stork opted for a
companywide contract, as part of which 15 power users
create ‘Angles’ for a large number of regular users.
The system landscape consists of three Every Angle
servers: one for production, one for development and QA
and one to support the roll-out of SAP. Every Angle has
been implemented for the improvement of data reliability
in the SAP system, the management of suppliers and the
detection and analysis of bottlenecks in the flow of goods.
Management issuesWith Every Angle the management team of Stork Food
Systems sought answers to a number of pressing issues.
Those management issues were:
What parts are missing from production at this moment
and in the short term?
What is the status of “show-stoppers” in the supply chain
and where do we need to intervene?
Which suppliers are responsible for most show-stoppers?
To what extent are we the cause of our suppliers’
unsatisfactory supply performance due to erratic orders
and overloading?
How can we increase our planning time span to enable
us to provide our most important suppliers with a more
regular ordering pattern and thus prevent them from
becoming overrun?
How reliable is the master data (of materials, customers,
suppliers, prices, parts lists, information records, etc.) in
our SAP system and how can we increase the reliability?
Greater delivery reliability results in a 20 percent increase
in productionefficiency
Results In a six-month period, Stork Food Systems
has managed to significantly improve the
delivery reliability of suppliers. This had a
tremendous impact on the plant’s production
efficiency, which has increased by 20 percent.
The reliability of data in the SAP system has
increased and bottlenecks have been
eradicated from the production system.
Frans Faber
Supply Chain Manager:
“Every Angle is an important ‘enabler’ of logistics improvements.
Every Angle has provided us with a far better overview of the inter-relationship between production and components, which has enabled us to plan more efficiently. This has resulted in a huge efficiency improvement for Stork Food Systems.”

Is the follow-up procedure of the process and order flow
sufficiently and accurately updated in the SAP system so
that it allows us to take full advantage of the added value
the system offers?
Examples of how Every Angle is being used Overviews of the expected overload to suppliers
This is not only caused by the build-up of purchase
orders, but also because of order requests and planned
orders, combined with master data concerning the
procurement method. This means Every Angle can
provide an overview over a more prolonged period
to facilitate a timely response.
Assessment of the suppliers’ service levels
In specific cases it is necessary to take into account
the longer transport times for items that are ordered in
low-wage countries. Often a supplier cannot be held
responsible for delays in the transport over sea.
Prioritizing in the event of problems with suppliers
If because of capacity bottlenecks, a supplier is forced to
choose between different orders, it is important to make
a quick decision about which components have the highest
priority. It is necessary to take into account the current
stock situation and assembly schedule.
Finding inconsistencies, gaps or errors in the
master data
Examples could include terms of delivery, delivery times,
material groups and statuses.
Analyzing stock surpluses and shortages
Stork Food Systems develops, manufactures and
maintains industrial systems and installations for
processing poultry, (red) meat and (liquid) foods.
Stork PMT (Poultry processing Machinery and
Technology) in Boxmeer is a subsidiary of Stork Food
Systems. In Boxmeer they produce among other
things poultry slaughter lines. These are complex,
customer specific products that require a network of
suppliers. For quite some years the Boxmeer branch
has been using the SAP ERP system for their goods
flow control and they intend to roll out this system to
four other branches, with support from the
Every Angle system.
Roy Coenders
Competence Center SAP:
“Simple ad-hoc reports are created directly by the end users with help
of Every Angle. This saves the SAP Competence Center a lot of work creating customized reports and downloads from SAP.”
Sulzer Eldim is a high tech manufacturer focusing
on precision machine services and complete
manufac turing of gas turbine and aero engines
components. Sulzer Eldim is using Every Angle in
the Next Step in a Cell Concept. Within this concept
Sulzer is focusing on the different cells and levels
in the company, by using a financial dashboard that
is supported by Every Angle.
Sulzer Eldim has developed a very unique approach of its
own supply chain. Truus Zorg, Manager Information
Systems notes that “Business is leading in everything
we do. As an IS Manager, to me ICT is much more than
only technical things. ICT is there to facilitate the
business. Processes, business integration and the
information stream are much more important and require
insight in business from the new type of ICT people.
The title Information Systems Manager represents this,
I strongly believe that only this type of managers will
survive the future. It is time for change.”
Use of Every AngleIn 2004, Every Angle was implemented at Sulzer Eldim
and, in the very beginning, it was used by only three
people from logistics to purchasing and sales. At Sulzer
Every Angle was mainly used for cleaning data pollution
and making queries. From 2006 on, this changed.
Zorg asked Every Angle to show what the solution was
capable of, from a logistics point of view. The demo given
by one of the Every Angle directors made many people
within Sulzer enthusiastic about the possibilities of the
solution. “Not being able to use Every Angle would be a
disaster for Sulzer. Users are so happy, they say they
hardly need SAP queries anymore.”
“‘This is what we want and need’, were the words from the
operations manager and the business analyst at Sulzer
Eldim,” says IS Manager Zorg. “Normally it’s the business
people that ask for tools like Every Angle, but this time
everybody saw the potential. It was saving a lot of work,
especially ABAP-programming.” Previously Sulzer hired
ABAP-consul tants, now the Every Angle users at the
company can make those queries themselves within five
minutes.
Management issuesThe management of Sulzer Eldim was able to answer several
questions by using Every Angle as an operational tool.
How can we reduce the scrap percentage?
We know our delivery reliability needs to be improved.
What’s the actual percentage and what should be done to
improve this?
How can we reduce the number of open orders in SAP?
Which part of the actual stock can be reduced without
decreasing the service level to our customers?
How can we improve the self autonomy of our employees?
Results Sulzer was able to reduce the stocks by 66%;
The company increased the delivery reliability
from 45 percent to 95 percent;
Sulzer reduced the number of open orders
in SAP from 2200 to 600;
Sulzer won the Business Process Improvement
Award, a prize initiated by Every Angle. The winner
was selected by Every Angle customers.
Increased delivery reliability and
reduced stock
Truus Zorg
IS Manager Sulzer:
“The way we are using Every Angle at Sulzer Eldim is of added value. IT
persons like me are not bothered with boring queries and writing ABAPs, we can spend our time on improving the processes.”

“This is what we want and need”
Sulzer Eldim specializes in the non-conventional
machining and manufacture of gas turbine
components - in particular blades, vanes, turbine
seals, turbine compressor stator vanes & stator
vane assemblies, inserts and fuel nozzle guides.
Founded in 1970, Eldim was the first Dutch
company, and one of the first in Europe, to apply
advanced machining tech nologies in the gas turbine
field. One of Eldim’s core activities is the machining
of cooling holes in turbine components, by means
of spark erosion (EDM), electro-chemical drilling
(ECD) and laser drilling. These methods of
machining allow Eldim to meet the critical
tolerances and the high standards required by
the gas turbine industry.
The complex specific products require a software
solution that’s delivering operational business
intelligence to production employees and
management. It was the combination of SAP MII
and Every Angle.
Cell SummaryProbably the most important role of Every Angle is
to feed the Cell Summary and prevent data pollution.
This Cell Summary is being used at different levels in
the organization of Sulzer, assuring management that
everybody is referring to the same available information.
As a result of the Cell Summary, Sulzer Eldim is able to
quickly and efficiently collect financial data and present
the data from different SAP modules on one piece of paper
for each cell. It’s not only the monthly costs that are
presented, but also data about registered hours and
KPIs, enabling Sulzer to visualize trends.
Examples of how Every Angle is being used Sulzer Eldim is using Every Angle for its operational
performance;
Sulzer Eldim is using Every Angle to anticipate events in
production and take proactive measures to deal with them;
Sulzer Eldim has changed from reactive to preventive
data management;
The combination of SAP Manufacturing Integration and
Intelligence (MII) and Every Angle makes it possible to
extract the right business-relevant reports out of the
available solutions at Sulzer;
The company needed this information to create the
“Cell Summary” - a change in production and a way to
provide employees with clear information about their jobs;
Every Angle is, together with SAP MII, feeding the
dashboard. The dashboard shows exactly what’s going
well in production and what’s not.

There is a world of difference between Every Angle’s
Operational Business Analytics solution and traditional BI.
However, organizations that do not now Every Angle
regularly ask: “We are already working with SAP BI (BW),
why do we need Every Angle?” In the words of a customer,
“BI is a tool for the generals, Every Angle is a tool for the
front lines.”
Every Angle and SAP BI (BW) complement each other.
SAP BI is very good at creating management reports which
trend historical data. Every Angle’s great strength lies in
creating highly-detailed operational overviews from
current data which are predictive as well as actionable.
Every Angle shows what the picture looks like tomorrow,
next week, next month if you do not adjust the course
today. Using Every Angle, business users can pinpoint
what needs to be adjusted, take action and achieve a
KPI instead of retroactively being measured by it, as is
the case with traditional BI.
Existing IT solutions for operational controlFor advanced analyses with a high level of detail based
on current data, and for operational overviews, you
depend on the IT possibilities. You need to retrieve the
data from the SAP ERP system, make it understand able
and put it in the right context. Subsequently, the data
needs to be available in a flexible way, so you can use it
intuitively. The solutions that are currently used to this
end are listed in the table below, and they are tested on
the basis of a number of requirements.
Assessment of present IT solutions for operational control*) Every Angle can be used as ‘content provider’ of Business Objects or as a Rapid Prototyping Tool. The combination of speed and flexibility
that Every Angle offers for generating content, in combination with the display options of Business Objects, has proved to be very powerful in many of our projects.

Every Angle on your system
Phase A: PreparationEach Every Angle implementation begins with thorough preparation.
By connecting Every Angle to your own SAP ERP
database, you’ll see the system’s advantages in your
day-to-day work. The technical installation will take
two days at most. Subsequently, Every Angle will run
in a pilot environment on your own system (phase B)
and then the implementation and roll-out take place
(phase C).

The Every Angle software is installed on the Windows server and linked to
your SAP ERP system (DEV => QAS => PRD). The installation is completed
with a technical and functional acceptance test.
During the proof-of-concept phase, Every Angle is demonstrated live
using your own SAP ERP data, so that you can assess the deployability
and applicability yourself.
This will demonstrate that:
Every Angle is live within two days with all standard functionality;
Every Angle is fully and automatically configured on the basis of
the SAP customization;
Adding customized fields and tables is easy to achieve.
During the Quick Scan Every Angle looks at:
Data quality (master data and orders);
Service levels of suppliers, production locations and customers;
Stocks (surpluses/shortages);
Bottlenecks (backlogs and planning problems).
The results are discussed with experts in your organization
and presented to management.
During a pilot implementation, an organization is given the opportunity
to work with the Every Angle software. A group of users will be trained
and supervised. During the final assessment, the users will present
the results and their experiences to the management.

During the key user implementation, 5 to 15 employees will be trained
to become key users. Every Angle will be deployable immediately for
a great variety of applications, so there will be immediate results.
At the end of this phase, you and the consultant create a plan for
Every Angle’s roll-out in order to ensure a smooth integration into
your organization.
During this phase, Every Angle is integrated into the daily operations.
This involves validating angles and including them in work instructions.
Every Angle is deployed as a standard IT solution in your organization and is
available to all employees for executing angles for their day-to-day work.
