Course Descriptions:
A. Introduction to Computers (1 Marking Period)
This course is an overview of computer hardware, software, representation and processing of data, design of algorithms, systems, and procedures; and computer languages. The course presents and applies the fundamentals of problem solving and programming in a high-level computer language.
B. Computer Applications I & II (1 Semester)
This course provides an overview of using Microsoft Office applications and student learn the basics of computer technology. The course help students acquire and retain the basic skills they need to become proficient in Computer and Internet Basics, Common Office Features, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to go along with other productivity applications.
C. IT Essentials A+ I & II (Full Year)
This course is an in-depth exposure to information technology and data communications. The course allows students develop the necessary skills to enter this field by installing, managing, repairing, and troubleshooting PC hardware with Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems.
D. Fundamentals of Web Design (1 Semester) This course focuses on the overall production processes surrounding web site design with particular emphasis on design elements involving layout, navigation and interactivity. Students are introduced to various web design applications such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

E. Networking Fundamentals I + II (Full Year) This course emphasizes the knowledge and application of concepts of networking, networking technology, related equipment, and terminologies. The course presents the OSI model, industry standards, network topologies, IP addressing, subnet masking, networking components, basic network design, local area networks, wide area networks, managing networks, remote access, network management, creating users/groups, configuring server roles, group policies, and troubleshooting.
1. System Administrator *** a. Introduction to Operating Systems
i. This course introduces students to the basics of modern operating systems. Students learn concepts, commands and operations, in popular Operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. It emphasizes skills in the following areas: operations and commands, accessing and installing application software, managing files and folders, controlling and configuring printers and other hardware, controlling and configuring the user environment, security configuration, troubleshooting and disaster recovery
b. Network & System Administrator I & II i. This course provides an advanced knowledge of networking as well as related equipment and terminologies.
The course will cover local area network, wide area network, managing enterprise level networks using Active Directory and remote access. Advanced network management and environment customization techniques will be explored, including creating users/groups, managing file permissions, configuring server roles, using group policies to configure and secure the network, routine system maintenance and troubleshooting.
2. Cyber Security ***
a. Fundamentals of Network Security i. This course is an introduction to network security focusing on the overall security processes with particular
emphasis on implementation of protecting an organization assets against danger, damage loss, and criminal activity.
b. Introduction to Computer Forensics I & II i. This introductory course focuses on computer forensics principles and an exposure to computer technology
concepts from operating systems and file types to data transmission. Students are introduced to the foundation of electronic evidence collection and handling, role of evidence in detecting and prosecuting computer crimes; cyberterrorism; traditional and violent crimes; incident response; civil cases; fraud and information security verification.

3. Web Development\Programming *** i. Introduction to Computer Science I+II
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of programming and problem solving. It focuses on simple datatypes, control structures, and introduction to array and string data structures and algorithms, as well as debugging techniques and the social implications of computing.
ii. Fundamentals of Web Design II (HTML\CSS\JavaScript) 1. Students then will learn how to implement the page layout for the Web site and apply advanced CSS
styling. Students will learn how to enhance a Web site by creating and processing Web forms, incorporating video and audio, programming pages with JavaScript, and integrating social media tools. Students will also will learn how to optimize the website for search engines and how to adapt the website for mobile devices.
4. Information Technology School to Work
a. This experience is available to qualified students that have the ability to demonstrate their skills and proficiencies in the Information Technology setting. Student will earn credit and income during their school to work experiences in their field of study. Students must provide their own transportation to avail themselves for this opportunity. This experience is coordinated by the school to work coordinator and have the recommendation of the information technology instructor.
