What Not To Wear!
•First Impressions are lasting
impressions. When going to an
interview your clothing should fit
properly. Women should refrain
from wearing low cut shirts, pants
that are too small, flashy jewelry,
shorts, open toed shoes, and
shoes with feet cleavage.
Act your Age, not your shoe
size!
Etiquette is extremely
important in the office, at
dinner, and during parties.
Keep in mind the 2 P’s:
Poise and Professionalism!
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
In many situations you may
be required to work in a
team. Some requirements
for successful team building
include:
Being open minded
Listening to everyone
Being Respectful
Alternating leadership roles
Participating during discussions
Positive attitude
Utilizing 2-way communication
Before going to a Career Fair, it is wise to do research about the positions. Familiarize yourself with job descriptions and requirements for said positions. Doing research before hand makes asking questions easier, gives the perception that you are genuinely interested in the position, and that you cared enough to research the company. This will save the recruiter from having to repeat facts about the company that any serious candidate should know prior to the Career Fair.
Know your role!
Make your network your

HARO, or www.helpareporter.com is a site where journalist and media can go to get information about certain things. Their slogan is “Everyone is an expert at something,” and they send out daily emails to sources that volunteer on the site. Within these emails they list 15-20 questions they have been asked from journalists, and if you know the answer to one of the questions, you send a reply email back with the answer. The answer is then forwarded on to the person who asks the question and makes finding sources and experts much easier on journalists.
