16 - 115Direct Vinylation of 2-Substituted N-(Benzylidene)glycinonitrilesunder Basic Conditions. — α-Vinyl substituted nitriles (III), (V), and(VI) are prepared via addition of carbanions generated from nitriles (I) toacetylenes ( II) and (IV). However, all attempts to convert these products into. beta.,γ-unsaturated α-amino acids fail.
