04 - 073Oxidative Degradation of Polychlorinated Phenols Catalyzed byMetalosulfophthalocyanines. — The mechanism of the title reactionof 2,4,6-trichlorophenol with the environmentally friendly oxidant hydrogenperoxide and easily accessible iron (or manganese) tetrasulfonatophthalocyaninecomplex as catalyst is described via 2,6-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone as interme-diate to generate chloromaleic acid as main ring cleavage product beside othersand oxidative coupling products. This catalytic oxidation is of interest in thetreatment and purification of waste waters. — (SOROKIN, A.; MEUNIER,B.; Chem.– Eur. J. 2 (1996) 10, 1308-1317; Lab. Chim.
