Word Just for You from Pastor JohnsonGreetings Beloved:
Nowadays we give our children names based on how it sounds, if it ’s cute, or even if itrhymes. The rapper Kanye West even noted, “She couldn’t afford a car, so she namedher daughter A-Lexus.” But it wasn’t like that in the Bible days. Back then, one’s nameindicated his characteristics, attributes, and abilities. Maybe that ’s why God has somany names—because his character, attributes, and abilities are so vast. Meditate onsome of the names of God above. Then consider this verse from 2 Chronicles 7:14:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
It ’s unfathomable, but when you became a child of God, GOD GAVE YOU HIS NAME! Sostop calling yourself a failure, a sinner, or just an average person. Stop calling yourselfsick, depressed, unattractive, addicted, stuck, tired, short -tempered, lonely, weak, un-lovable, broke, crazy, busted, disgusted, worried, or anxious. The verse above tells usthat the process of healing begins by calling yourself the right name—God’s name.
No matter how you feel, or what the circumstances are, you are amazing, greater, faith-ful, powerful, prosperous, peaceful, joyous, generous, wanted, loved, accepted, andwhole. God said so. So maybe you should start saying so too You’ll be glad you did.
To God be the Glory!
