Children's Day and UniversalChildren's :
Day is a day dedicated tobrotherhood andunderstanding among the world's
children and for activities to promote the welfare andrightsof children worldwide.
In 1954,
the General Assembly of the United Nations recommended that all countriesinstitute a Universal Children's Day and suggested that stategovernments to celebratethe Day on
the date that each of them considers the conveniente.1 The day ONUcelebra20 November, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration onthe Rights of the Child in 1959 and the Convention on the Rights of the
Child in 1989.On November 20,
1959, the General Assembly of the United Nations met with
theintention to reaffirm the universal rights ofchildren and to be held in each country in the world one day would bedevoted to fraternity and understanding between children of the
world and is targeted to activities that develop thewelfare of all children in the world.
The idea of this meeting had an institution calledthe International Union for the Protection
of Children, which in 1952 suggested that there should be a specialday tocelebrate children. A year later, in 1953, forty countries decided
to join the party andcelebrate too.

Soon, the United Nations joined the idea an
d unanimously decreed that there shouldbea time to honor and emphasize theneeds of children around the world.
