Cleaning Some Equipment In the
Kitchen
Hand Washing• Keeping hands clean is one of the most important steps we can take to
avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others. Many diseases and conditions are spread by not washing hands with soap and clean, running water.
• If soap and water are unavailable, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to clean hands.
Equipment• Scrub Brush, Cloth Towels, Steel Wool, Multi-Purpose
Cleaner/Soap, Gloves, etc.• Make something free of dirt, marks, or mess, especially by
washing, wiping, or brushing.
Cleaning The Range• Switch off and remove the electric plug, for the range to
cool before cleaning• Remove and wipe food particles, burnt sediments, and
grease away from the top of the range• Clean the parts thoroughly particularly those that are
removable. Clean the burners with a dry brush or with soap or with a clean dry cloth.
• Remove the grills before cleaning the entire oven .Scrape the food particles carefully. Wash and Dry the removable parts very well
Cleaning the Mixer• Unplug your mixer before you begin• Detach all attachments and hand wash them in warp soapy water.• With a soft Sponge now wipe the entire stand mixer. Make sure to
get all excess food and stains from the beater shaft, any clamps, and the stand mixer body. Do not use strong cleaning products.
• Dry with a gentle cloth and store away.
Cleaning The Sink• Thoroughly rinse out your sink. • Sprinkle baking soda onto the surface. Working it into a paste, rinse
thoroughly.• Line the sink with paper towels soaked in white vinegar. Allow it to
sit for 20 minutes and then dispose of the paper towels.• Rinse the sink with warm soapy water.• For the faucets and handles, wipe with a mild soapy solution.
Cleaning the Refrigerator• Take all your food out of the fridge. Place it on a table or
counter so the refrigerator is completely emptied out.• Throw out any aged, moldy or inedible food, bagging
securely to prevent leakage or mold distribution.• Wash the shelving, drawers, and other surfaces by hand.• Wipe the inside of the refrigerator with your preferred
cleaning solution• Dry off shelving before putting it back in its home in the
refrigerator
